- 51 - Taking pictures according to the scene [Scene Mode] [Panorama Shot] Creates a single panorama picture by stitching multiple still pictures t\ aken in rapid succession. Use cursor button to select the recording direction, and press [MENU/SET\ ] to set. Check the recording direction and press [MENU/SET] Special panorama guidelines will be displayed during recording. Press the shutter button halfway to focus Press the shutter button fully and pan the camera in a small circular mo\ tion in the selected direction to start recording • Taking pictures from left to right Pan the camera in a small circular motion Pan the camera at a speed that turning halfway around in approx. 4 seconds • Pan the camera at a constant speed. • You may not be able to take pictures successfully if you move the camera too quickly or too slowly. 1 sec. 2 sec. 3 sec. - 58 - Using the [Rec] menu [AF Mode] • For [Rec] menu setting procedures (→33) Method of aligning focus can be changed according to position and number\ of subjects. ■Recording mode: ■Settings: / / Taking front-on pictures of people (Face Detection) Recognizes faces (up to 15 people) and adjusts exposure and focus accordingly. AF area Yellow : When the shutter button is pressed halfway, the frame turns green when the camera is focused. White : Displayed when more than one face is detected. Other faces that are the same distance away as faces within the yellow AF area are also focused. Subject not centered in picture (23-area-focusing) Focuses on up to 23 points in each AF area. (AF area not displayed until focused) Determined position for focus (1-area-focusing) Focuses on AF area in center of picture. (Recommended when focus is difficult to align) ●Cannot set to “Face Detection” in the following cases: [Panorama Shot], [Night Scenery], [Food] Scene Modes ●If the camera misinterprets a non-human subject as a face in the “Fac\ e Detection” setting, switch to another setting. ●If conditions prevent the face from being recognized, such as when the m\ ovement of the subject is too rapid, the [AF Mode] setting switches to (23-area-focusing).

- 59 - Using the [Rec] menu [i.Exposure] • For [Rec] menu setting procedures (→33) Automatically adjusts contrast and exposure to give more lifelike colors\ when there is significant contrast between background and subject. ■Recording mode: ■Settings: [ON] / [OFF] ●When [i.Exposure] works, the color of changes. ●Even if [Sensitivity] is set to [100], when [i.Exposure] is activated, p\ ictures may be taken at a higher ISO Sensitivity than the setting. [i.Resolution] • For [Rec] menu setting procedures ( →33) You can use the camera’s super resolution technology to record still pictures with sharper outlines and clearer resolution. Also, when [i.ZOOM] is set, the zoom ratio can be increased two times higher than the original zoom ratio while preventing\ deterioration of picture quality. ■Recording mode: ■Settings: [ON] / [i.ZOOM] / [OFF] ●About i.ZOOM ( →44) ●The setting is fixed to [i.ZOOM] in [Intelligent Auto] Mode. ●The setting is fixed to [ON] in [High Sens.] Scene Mode, [OFF] in [Panor\ ama Shot] Scene Mode, and to [i.ZOOM] in other Scene Modes.
