    Taking pictures with automatic settings  
    [Intelligent Auto] Mode
    Recording mode:    
    Optimum settings are made automatically from information such as “fac\
    e”, “movement”, 
    “brightness”, and “distance” just by pointing the camera at \
    the subject, meaning that clear 
    pictures can be taken without the need to make settings manually.

    Automatic Scene Detection
    Camera reads scene when pointed at subject, and makes optimum settings a\
    utomatically.

    ●When  or  is detected, Face Detection is activated, and the focus and exposure 
    are adjusted for the recognized faces.
     
    ● About Backlight Compensation
    Backlight is a condition where a light shines from behind a subject. Whe\
    n there is a 
    backlight, a subject appears darker and the camera automatically correct\
    s the exposure 
    by increasing the brightness of an entire image. When the camera detects\
     backlight, 
     
    is displayed on the LCD monitor.
    About flash
    Press  to select  or . 
    ●When  is selected, the optimum flash is selected automatically depending on 
    conditions. ( →45)
     
    ●When  or  is selected, the red-eye reduction function is activated. 
    ●When  or  is selected, the shutter speed is reduced.
    About the Happy color setting
    When [Color Mode] ( →62) is set to [Happy], pictures are recorded with vivid coloring.

    Notes on setting items
    Only menu items which are displayed in the [Intelligent Auto] Mode can be set.
    The settings selected in the [Normal Picture] Mode or other modes are re\
    flected for not 
    displayed menu items on the [Setup] menu.
     
    ●The settings for the following items are different from other recording modes:
    [Picture Size], [Color Mode] and [Burst] DMC-FH6 on the [Rec] menu 
    ●The settings for the following functions are fixed:

    Recording mode:    
     
    ●Depending on the type of card used, a card-access display may appear for\
     a while after 
    motion picture recording. This is not a fault.
     
    ●In [AF Mode],  (23-area-focusing) is fixed.  
    ●In [Stabilizer], [ON] is fixed. 
    ●When there is no space left to store the motion picture, recording autom\
    atically ends. 
    Additionally, recording in progress may be stopped, depending on the card used.

    Viewing your pictures  [Normal Play]
    When a card is in the camera, pictures are played back from the card, an\
    d without a card, 
    pictures are played back from the built-in memory.
     
    ●It may not be possible to view pictures on this camera that were previou\
    sly edited on a 
    computer.
     
    ●After pressing the Playback button and switching it into the playback mo\
    de, the lens 
    barrel will be retracted after approx. 15 seconds.
     
    ● This camera is compliant with the unified DCF (Design rule for Camera F\
    ile system) 
    standard formulated by the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries 
    Association (JEITA), and with Exif (Exchangeable image file format). Files that are no\
    t 
    DCF-compliant cannot be played back.

     Viewing motion pictures
    Select a picture with the motion picture icon, and press 
    Playback now starts.
    Motion picture recording timeWhen playback starts, the elapsed playback time is displayed 
    in the top right of the screen.

    supplied CD-ROM.
     
    ●Be careful not to block the speaker.

    ●Pictures taken with destination settings made in [World Time] are displayed in the 
    calendar screen using the appropriate date for the destination’s time zone.
