    [ INTELLIGENT ISO]Changing ISO sensitivity
    automatically
The camera detects the movement of the
subject and then sets the optimal ISO
sensitivity and shutter speed according to the
movement and the brightness of the subject.
The settings listed below indicates the
    selectable highest ISO sensitivity.
    OFFIntelligent ISO does not work.
    ISO MAX400[MAX] shows the maximum
    level of ISO sensitivity.
    The ISO sensitivity
    automatically increases up
    to the set value.
    ISO MAX800
    ISO MAX1600
    [
] displays when you press the shutter
button halfway. If you press it fully, the
shutter speed and ISO sensitivity will be
    displayed.
Jitter is avoided when taking pictures indoors
of a moving subject by increasing the ISO
sensitivity and making the shutter speed
faster. (However, picture noise will increase.)
Noise is avoided when taking pictures
indoors of a subject with no movement by
    decreasing the ISO sensitivity.
Depending on the brightness and how
fast the subject is moving, jitter may not
    be avoided.
When the moving subject is small
When the moving subject is at the edge
    of the screen
When the subject starts moving the
instant the shutter button is pressed fully
If picture noise becomes a problem, we
    recommend setting the maximum ISO
sensitivity to low level, setting the [NOISE
    REDUCTION] of [PICT.ADJ.] to high
level, or setting each of the items other
than [NOISE REDUCTION] to low level.
The digital zoom cannot be used. •

    [ SENSITIVITY]Setting the light sensitivity
    ISO sensitivity represents the sensitivity
of the image sensor to light. If you set the
ISO sensitivity higher, the camera becomes
more suitable for recording in dark places.
When setting to [AUTO], the ISO
sensitivity is automatically adjusted to a
maximum of [ISO400] according to the
brightness. (When using the fl ash, the
    adjustment range becomes a maximum
    of [ISO1000].)

    Noise Less More
    The ISO sensitivity automatically changes
    between [ISO1600] and [ISO6400] in
    [HIGH SENS.] mode.
To avoid picture noise we recommend
reducing the ISO sensitivity, setting the
    [NOISE REDUCTION] of [PICT.ADJ.] to
high level or setting each of the items other
than [NOISE REDUCTION] to low level.
ISO sensitivity cannot be set when the
    intelligent ISO is used.
    In manual exposure mode, [AUTO]
    cannot be selectable. •
