This is convenient for operating the zoom while keeping the subject at the center of the screen. Settings: [ON]/[OFF] Applicable modes: You can check areas that may be white saturated by displaying areas above a certain luminance level in a zebra pattern. You can also set the minimu m luminance level (brightness) to be processed as a zebra pattern. Displaying the center of the screen ([Center Marker]) Applicable modes: > [Custom] > [Center Marker] Checking areas that may be white saturated ([Zebra Pattern]) > [Custom] > [Zebra Pattern] [ZEBRA1] Displays areas above a certain luminance level by a right-leaning zebra pattern. [ZEBRA2]Displays areas above a certain luminance level by a left-leaning zebra pattern. [OFF] — [SET]Sets the minimum brightness level for each zebra pattern. [Zebra 1]/[Zebra 2] Press 3/4 to select the brightness, and press [MENU/SET]. •You can select a brightness value between [50%] and [105%]. In [Zebra 2], you can select [OFF]. If you select [100%] or [105%], only the areas that are already white saturated are displayed in a zebra pattern. Functions Customized for Various Subjects and Purposes 214 •If there are any white saturated areas, we recommend compensating the exposure towards negative (P167) referring to the histogram (P55) and then taking the picture. •Displayed zebra patterns will not be recorded.•If you assign [Zebra Pattern] to [Fn Button Set] (P70) in the [Custom] menu, each time you press the function button to which the setting is assigned, the zebra pattern toggles as follows: [Zebra 1] > [Zebra 2] > [OFF]. When [Zebra 2] is set to [OFF], the setting toggles in the order of [Zebra 1] > [OFF], allowing you to switch the setting quickly. Applicable modes: You can display the recording screen in black and white. This f unction is convenient when a black and white screen will make it easier to set focus with Manual Focus. Settings: [ON]/[OFF] • Even if you use the HDMI output during recording, this function will not work for the connected device. •Recorded images will not be affected. Functions Customized for Various Subjects and Purposes Recording while monitoring camera images Applicable modes: When using the HDMI output, you can take pictures while monitoring the camera image on a TV, etc. Refer to P334 on how to connect with TV by using HDMI micro cable. • The camera image is not output to the TV during motion picture recording. ∫ Switching the information displayed You can change the display shown during HDMI output using [HDMI Info Display (Rec)] (P81) in [TV Connection] on the [Setup] menu. • When using the Auto Focus Mode [ ] or MF assist, the screen cann ot be enlarged in windowed mode. •[Aspect Ratio] in the [Rec] menu is fixed to [16:9]. •Electronic sounds and electronic shutter sounds are muted.•If you set up a Wi-Fi connection while using the HDMI output, n o image will be displayed on the camera monitor. •Images are not output through the HDMI connection in panorama p icture recording.•When recording with the 4K Photo function, it is not possible to use the HDMI output. [ON]:The camera display is output as is. [OFF]:Only images are output.

Stabilizer, Zoom and Flash Image Stabilizer The camera can activate either the In-Lens Image Stabilizer or In-Body Image Stabilizer, or it can activate both of them and reduce jitter even more effect ively. (Dual I.S.) For motion picture recording, the 5-Axis Hybrid Image Stabilize r is available. It uses both the optical stabilizer of the lens and the electronic stabilize r of the camera’s sensor. • The image stabilizers to be activated differ depending on your lens. Preventing jitter (camera shake) When the jitter alert [ ] appears, use [Stabilizer], a tripod, t he self-timer (P195) or the shutter remote control (DMW-RSL1: optional) (P354). • Shutter speed will be slower particularly in the following case s. Keep the camera still from the moment the shutter button is pressed until the picture appears on the screen. We recommend using a tripod. –Slow Sync.–Slow Sync./Red-Eye Reduction–When you set to a slow shutter speed > [Rec] > [Stabilizer] [Operation Mode] [] ([Normal]) Vertical and horizontal shake are compensated for. [] ([Panning]) Camera shake is corrected for up/down movements. This mode is ideal for panning (a method of taking pictures which involves turning the camera to track the movements of a subject which continues to move in a fixed direction). [OFF] [Stabilizer] does not work. •When using a lens with an O.I.S. switch, set the switch to [OFF]. [E-Stabilizat ion (Video)] Jitter during motion picture recording is corrected along the v ertical, horizontal, roll, pitch, and yaw axes (5-Axis Hybrid Image Stabilizer). [ON]/[OFF] •When [ON] is selected, the angle of view of recorded motion pic tures may become narrower. [Focal Length Set] If your lens is compatible with the In-Body Image Stabilizer an d the focal length is not set automatically, you can set it manually. (P218) •When a manually selected focal length is set, a confirmation sc reen asking you to change the focal length setting is displayed after you t urn on the camera. Selecting [Yes] allows you to set [Focal Length Set] in [Stabilizer]. MENU

[ ] is displayed on the screen at that time. •We recommend taking pictures with the viewfinder when panning in [ ]. Not available in these cases: • [ ] is not available in Panorama Shot Mode. •The Dual I.S. and In-Body Image S tabilizer function is not available in the following cases:–When the shutter speed is set to [B] (Bulb)–When the shutter speed exceeds 2 seconds –When [Burst Rate] is set to [SH]–Recording still pictures while recording a motion picture [only when set to [ ] (motion picture priorities)]. –When recording 4K photos•The 5-Axis Hybrid Image Stabiliz er function is not available in the following cases:–When [Rec Format] is set to [MP4] and [Rec Quality] is set to [4K/100M/30p], [4K/100M/24p] or [VGA/4M/30p] –When using the Digital Zoom•The stabilizer function may not be effective in the following c ases.
