11.3.7. Insert the Air Filter. 11.4.1. Remove the Front Intake Grille. • • • • Raise the Front Intake Grille by approximately 90°. Slide it to the left to unhinge then pull outwards. 11.4.2. Remove the Air Filter. • • • • Lift the air filter by the holder and pull outwards. 11.3.8. Attach the Front IntakeGrille. • • • • Slide the Front Intake Grille slightly to the right to attach it, then push down to secure it. 11.4.3. Remove the Front Grille. 1. Press inward on the Cabine t near the bottom right side of the Front Grille while pulling the Front Grille to the right then slightly towards you to release the right tab. 2. Press inward on the Cabine t near the bottom left side of the Front Grille while pulling the Front Grille to the left then slightly towards you to release the left tab. 3. Slide the Front Grille upwards to release the two top tabs. Note:When performing thefollowing steps, do not pull the bottom edge of the Front Grille towards you more than 3 inches or you may damage the top tabs. 11.5. Condensed Water Drainage. This air conditioner employ s a “Slinger-Up System” which is designed to splash the condensed water on the condenser coil for maximum cooling efficien cy, thus producing a splashing sound. If the splashing sound annoys you, you can provide an outside drainage by using the following procedure which may, however, cause a small loss of performance. Note: If the unit is installe d at coastal area, drainage of condensed water is recommende d to prevent the condenser being corroded easily. 1. Slide the Chassis outfrom the Cabine t. 2. 3. Install the Drain Pan at the right corner of the Cabine t with 2 screws. 12.1. Cleaning the Unit. Clean the Cabine t, Front Grille with a mild soap or detergent and lukewarm water. 12.2. Cleaning the Front Intake Grille. Gently wash with water and a sponge. (Do not use a scrubbing brush or other hard cleanin g aids). 4. Conne ct the drain hose to the outlet of Drain Pan bottom. 5. Slide the Chassis back into the Cabine t. Note: Drain hose or tubing can be purchased locally to satisfy your particular needs. 12.3. Cleaning the Air Filter. 1. Remove the Front Intake Grille. 2. Tilt up and pull out the Air Filter by the holder. 3. Vacuum the front of the filter and then wash the back of it with water. If it is badly soiled, wash with a mild household detergent. 12 Care and Maintenance Caution: Always turn off the air conditioner and the mainpower supply before unplugging thepower cord to clean the unit. Note: Do not cleanwithbenzene, thinner, scouring powder or corrosive chemicals. Do not dry the Front Intake Grille or the Air Filter in direct sunlight. 1. Remove the Front Intake Grille (refer to page 20). 2. Remove the Air Filter (refer to page 20). 3. Remove the Front Grille (refer to page 20). 4. Remove the 3 screws from the Control Board (Front). Releas e the earth wire (Yellow-Green) screw. 5. Releas e the sensor thermostat from the holder sensor. 6. Slide the Control Board (Main) outfrom the chassis. 7. Press left and right side tab to release the Control Board (Front). 8.
