							Send your location in a message
Asked your friends to come and meet you, but they don't know the place? Send them your location on a map.
This feature may not be available for all regions.
Your phone may ask you about using your location. You need to allow it to use this feature.
1. When writing a text message, tap  > my location.
Sending a message with an attachment may be more expensive than sending a normal text message. For more info, contact your service provider.
2. Tap .
Your friends receive a message with a picture of where you are on the map.
Send an audio message
Want to celebrate your friend's birthday with a song? Send your song as an audio message.
1. When writing a message, tap  > voice note.2. Record your message, and tap done.3. Tap .
Mail
You can use your phone to read and reply to mail when you're on the go.

To send and receive mail, you must be connected to the internet.
Add or delete a mailbox
If you use different mail addresses for business and leisure, no problem – you can add several mailboxes to your phone.
Add your first mailbox
To set up mail in your phone, you must be connected to the internet.
If you didn't sign in to your Microsoft account during the first start-up, you can do it now. When you add a Microsoft account to your phone, a mail account is added automatically.
1. Tap .2. Tap an account, and write your username and password.3. Tap sign in.
Tip: Depending on your mail account, you can also sync other items than just mails to your phone, such as your contacts and calendar.
If your phone doesn't find your mail settings, advanced setup can find them. For this, you need to know your mail account type and the addresses of your incoming and outgoing mail servers. You can get this info from your mail service provider.

Add a mailbox laterIn your mailbox, tap  > add email account and an account, and sign in.
Tip: To add your Exchange work mail, contacts, and calendar to your phone, select Exchange as your account, write your work mail address and password, and tap sign in.

							Your new mailbox appears as a new tile on the start screen.
Delete a mailboxOn the start screen, swipe down from the top of the screen, and tap ALL SETTINGS > email+accounts. Tap and hold the mailbox, and tap delete.
You cannot delete the first Microsoft mailbox you signed in with. You must reset your phone to do that.
Add your Exchange mailbox to your phone
Would you like to have your work mail, contacts, and calendar at hand, whether you are sitting by your computer or on the go with your phone? You can sync the important content between your phone and a Microsoft Exchange server.
Exchange can be set up only if your company has a Microsoft Exchange server. In addition, your company IT administrator must have activated Microsoft Exchange for your account.
Before starting the setup, make sure you have the following:
•A corporate mail address•Your Exchange server name (contact your company IT department)•Your network domain name (contact your company IT department)•Your office network password
Depending on the Exchange server configuration, you may need to type in additional info during the setup. If you don't know the correct info, contact your company IT department.
1. On the start screen, swipe down from the top of the screen, and tap ALL SETTINGS > email+accounts.2. Tap add an account > Exchange.3. Write your Exchange mail address and password, and tap sign in.
During the setup, you can define which content and how often you want your phone to sync with the server. To sync additional content, change the Exchange account settings.
Open mail from the start screen
With live mail tiles you can open mail directly from the start screen.
From the tiles, you can see the number of unread mails and if you've received new mail.

							You can pin several mailboxes to the start screen. For example, dedicate a tile for business mail and another for personal mail. If you link several mailboxes into a unified inbox, you can open mails from all your inboxes in one tile.
To read your mail, tap the tile.
Send mail
Don't let your mails pile up. Use your phone to read and write mails on the go.
1. Tap .2. Tap  and an account, if you have linked inboxes.3. To add a recipient from your contacts list, tap , or start writing a name. You can also write the address.
Tip: To remove a recipient, tap the name and Remove.
4. Write the subject and your mail.
Tip: Your phone can help you write your mail faster. While writing, your phone suggests possible next words to complete your sentence. To add a word, tap a suggestion. To browse the list, swipe over the suggestions. This feature is not available in all languages.
5. To attach a photo, tap .
Tip: You can also take a new photo while writing your mail. Tap , take a photo, and tap accept.
6. Tap  to send the mail.
Send an Office documentTap  Office, tap the document you want to send and  > share..., and select the mail account you want to use.

							Read mail
If you’re waiting for important news, you don’t have to wait until you’re at your desk. Use your phone to read your mails.
You can see when you have new mail on the start screen.
1. Tap .2. In your mailbox, tap the mail. Unread mail is marked in a different colour.
Tip: To zoom in or out, place 2 fingers on the screen, and slide them together or apart.Tip: If a mail contains a web address, tap it to go to the website.
Read mail in a conversationIn your mailbox, tap the conversation that includes the mail, and tap the mail. A conversation with unread mail is marked in a different colour.
Save an attachmentWith the mail open, tap the attachment, such as a photo, and it is downloaded to your phone. Tap and hold the attachment, and tap save. Not all file formats can be saved.
Copy a linkWith the mail open, tap and hold the web link, and tap copy link.
Reply to mail
Do you receive mail that needs a quick answer? Reply straight away using your phone.
1. Tap .2. Open the mail, and tap .

							Forward a mailOpen the mail, and tap  > forward.
Delete mail
When your mailbox is overflowing, delete some mails to free up space in your phone.
1. In your mailbox, tap to the left of the mails you want to delete.2. Tap the check boxes that appear next to the mails, and tap .
All the mails you selected are deleted. Depending on your mail account, the mails may be deleted from your mail server, too.
Delete one mailOpen the mail, and tap .
View mails separately
Mails are grouped by title in conversations. A conversation also includes your replies. If you'd like to view all your mails separately, you can switch the conversations feature off.
1. Tap .2. Tap  > settings.3. Switch Conversations to Off .
Send automatic replies
If you are on vacation or otherwise out of the office, you can send automatic replies to the mails that arrive during your absence.
1. Tap  >  > settings > automatic replies.2. Switch Status to On , write your reply, and tap .
Link several mailboxes as a unified inbox
If you have more than one mail account, you can choose which inboxes you want to link together into one inbox. The unified inbox lets you see all your mail at a glance.
1. On the start screen, tap a mailbox.2. Tap  > link inboxes.3. In the other inboxes list, tap the inboxes you want to link to the first one.4. Tap rename linked inbox, write a new name for the mailbox, and tap .
The new unified inbox is pinned to the start screen.
Unlink unified inboxesOn the start screen, tap the unified inbox and  > linked inboxes. In the list, tap the inboxes you want to unlink and unlink.

Why carry a separate camera if your phone has all you need for capturing memories? With your phone camera, you can easily take photos or record videos.
Get to know Lumia Camera
When you want to take outstanding photos, Lumia Camera gives you full control.
With Lumia Camera, you can:
•Change each setting manually to your preference•Easily share your photos and videos•Record high-definition videos. 4K and Full HD videos are not supported by all phones. Open your camera quickly
Make sure you get to your camera in a flash when you need it – place a shortcut in the action centre. If your phone has a camera key, it is the fastest way to start snapping.
1. On the start screen, swipe down from the top of the screen, and tap ALL SETTINGS > notifications+actions.2. To change a shortcut to open the default camera, tap the shortcut and .3. To switch the camera on quickly using the shortcut, swipe down from the top of the screen, and tap .
Tip: To switch the camera on when your phone is locked, press the power key, swipe down from the top of the screen, and tap .

Change the default camera
You can change the default camera app to whichever camera you prefer.

Take a photo

Tip: If your phone has a camera key, to quickly switch the camera on when your phone is locked, press and hold the camera key for a couple of seconds.Tip: To open the camera with Cortana, tap the search key , tap , say Open camera, and follow the instructions. View the photo in full-resolution viewTo view the photo you just took, depending on your phone, do either of the following:

Record a videoTap  to select video mode, and tap it again to start recording.
Glam up your selfie
Use the Lumia Selfie app to take cool selfies. Your photo is enhanced and ready to be shared in a snap.
To download the Lumia Selfie app or check that you have the latest version, go to www.windowsphone.com. Lumia Selfie may not be available for all phone models.
1. Tap  Lumia Selfie.2. To take a selfie with the front camera, simply tap the screen. The front camera is not supported by all phones. For availability, go to www.microsoft.com/mobile/support/wpfeatures.3. To take a selfie with the main camera, tap  to switch cameras, if needed. Look into the camera lens, follow the beeps to line up the shot, and hold still as the camera takes your photo.
Tip: To avoid camera shake, tap  > timer, and select a delay.
4. To reframe the selfie, slide your fingers apart or together, and tap .5. To enhance your selfie, tap .6. To apply a filter to your selfie, tap .
Tip: To remove all enhancements and filters from the selfie, tap  > clear all effects.
7. To save your selfie, tap .
Record a video
Besides taking photos with your phone, you can also capture your special moments as videos.

To view the video you just recorded, tap the round thumbnail at the corner of the screen. The video is saved in Camera Roll.
Take photos that seem alive
Living Images capture a brief moment of video with every photo you take, so they seem alive when you browse them in Camera Roll or Lumia Storyteller.
Living Images is not supported by all phones. For availability, go to www.microsoft.com/mobile/support/wpfeatures.
Make sure you have downloaded the latest version of the Lumia Camera app from Store.
1. Tap  Lumia Camera > , and swipe to photo.2. Switch Living Images to on.
Save your photos and videos to a memory card
If there is a memory card in your phone, and your phone memory is filling up, save the photos you take and videos you record to the memory card.
For the best video quality, record videos to your phone memory. If you record videos to the memory card, it is recommended that the microSD card you use is a fast 4–128GB card by a well-known manufacturer. The memory card is not supported by all phones. For availability, go to www.microsoft.com/mobile/support/wpfeatures.
1. On the start screen, swipe down from the top of the screen, tap ALL SETTINGS, and swipe to storage sense.2. Switch Store new photos on my to SD card.
The photos you take from now on are saved to the memory card.
Use only compatible memory cards approved for use with this device. Incompatible cards may damage the card and the device and corrupt data stored on the card.
Save the photos and videos you’ve taken earlier to a memory cardIn the Photos hub, browse to a photo or video, tap  and the photo or video, and tap  > save to SD card.
Tip: To quickly select all photos or videos in an album, browse to the album, and tap  >  > select all.
Save location info to your photos and videos
If you want to remember exactly where you were when you took a particular photo or video, you can set your phone to automatically record the location.
