69 Image Searching (Auto Sort Mode) More on Playback Auto Sort Mode The following operations are possible from the auto sort folder list screen. Auto Sort Menu Display the menu below by pressing the d button in the full-frame playback of auto sort mode. BNote on Print set When print marking already exists for pictures in categories other than the type specified, a confirmation dialog Save print marking for other images? will be displayed. Choose Ye s to add the new print marking to the existing marking. Choose No to remove the existing print marking and leave only the new marking. If the amount of pictures exceed 99 due to the new print markings added, the Too many images selected. Remove print marking from other images? confirmation dialog will be displayed. Choose Ye s to remove the existing print marking and leave only the new marking. 70 More on Playback Storing the Pictures in the Specified Favorite Folder Pictures can be added to the favorite folder sorted by each event such as travel or wedding. Once pictures are added to the favorite folder, only pictures in the selected folder can be played back. One picture can be added to multiple folders. 71 Storing the Pictures in the Specified Favorite Folder More on Playback Preparing a Favorite Folder Changing the display icons for the favorite folders will make it easier to know what pictures are in each folder. The icons can be changed again after adding the pictures to the folders. 1Display the playback-mode selection menu by pressing the c button in playback mode, use the rotary multi selector to select h, and then press the k button. • Favorite folders will be displayed. 2Choose the favorite folder and press the d button. •Icon selection screen is displayed. 3Choose an icon color, and press the k button. 4Choose an icon and press the k button. •The icon will be changed and the screen will return to favorite pictures playback as in step 2. BSetting Icons in Favorite Folder Set the favorite folder icon for the internal memory or memory card. Changing to internal memory or a memory card that does not have the icon set will revert the icon back to the number icon (default setting). Remove the memory card from the camera when changing the favorite folder icon in the internal memory. Adding the pictures will enable for easier and faster searching. 1Playback the pictures in the playback mode (A28), the list by date mode ( A64) or auto sort mode ( A67). 2Select your favorite picture and press the k button. • Select full-frame playback mode and press the k button. • The favorite pictures screen will be displayed. 3Use the rotary multi selector to choose the favorite folder and press the k button. •The added picture will be in the favorite folder. BNotes about Selecting Favorite Pictures • A favorite folder can contain up to 200 pictures. • If the picture chosen is already in the favorite folder, the checkbox on the folder chosen will have the On mark ( w). • One picture can be added to multiple favorite folders. • Pictures will not be copied or moved even if added to favorite folders ( A76). • Movies cannot be added to the favorite folders. 73 Storing the Pictures in the Specified Favorite Folder More on Playback Viewing the Pictures in the Favorite Folder (Favorites Playback Mode) In favorite pictures playback mode the favorite folder with the pictures can be chosen and displayed. In full-frame playback mode, just as with the normal playback mode, picture displays can be enlarged, the thumbnail playback can be done, pictures can be edited, and voice memos can be recorded or played back. 1Display the playback-mode selection menu by pressing the c button in playback mode, use the rotary multi selector to select h, and then press the k button. •Favorite folders will be displayed. Favorite folders that have pictures added to it will have the pictures displayed. 2Choose a Favorite folder and press the k button. • The pictures in the selected favorite folder will be displayed in full-frame playback mode. • The icon of the favorite folder being played back currently will be displayed on the top right of the screen. Removing Favorites Press the k button during favorites full-frame playback (step 2 above) and the removing favorites screen will be displayed. To remove the picture from favorites, choose Ye s and press the k button. To cancel removal, choose No and press the k button. BDifference Between Removing and Deleting FavoritesFavorite pictures playback will playback the original pictures that have been added to the favorite folder (A76). Deleting a picture (A28, 63, 69, 118) while in favorite pictures playback will delete the original picture that has been added to the favorite folder. To remove a picture from favorites without deleting it, just remove the desired picture from favorite folder. 76 Storing the Pictures in the Specified Favorite Folder More on Playback CPlayback/Adding to Favorites Adding to favorites does not copy the original picture data and move it. The file name will be added to the favorite folder. Favorite pictures playback uses the file name from that favorite folder and playbacks the picture from there. Deleting a picture (A28, 63, 69, 118) while in playback will delete the original picture that has been added to favorites, so be careful while deleting pictures. 77 Movies Movies Recording Movies To shoot movies with sound recorded via the built-in microphone, select shooting mode and follow the steps below. 1Display the shooting-mode selection menu by pressing the A button in shooting mode, use the rotary multi selector to select D, and then press the k button. •Exposure count display shows the maximum total length of movie that can be recorded. 2Press the shutter-release button all the way down to start recording. •Camera focuses on the subject in center of the frame. • A progress bar at the bottom of the monitor shows the amount of recording time remaining. • To end recording, press the shutter-release button all the way down again. • Recording stops automatically when the in ternal memory or memory card becomes full, or recording time reaches 25 minutes. BShooting Movies• Once movie recording begins optical zoom cannot be applied. • Digital zoom cannot be applied before movie recording begins, but up to 2× digital zoom can be applied while movies are being recorded. • The angle of view (field of view) when shooting movies is smaller than when shooting still picture. • Macro mode ( A33) is enabled. Flash mode ( A30), self-timer ( A32), and exposure compensation ( A34) are disabled. • Macro mode settings cannot be applied or changed while movies are being recorded. Apply or change settings as necessary before movie recording begins. BNote on Recording MoviesWhen the movie has been fully recorded to the internal memory or memory card, the monitor display will revert to the normal shooting mode display. Do not open the battery-chamber/memory card slot cover while movies are being recorded. Turning the camera off or removing the memory card while movies are being recorded could result in loss of data or in damage to the camera or card. 78 Movies The Movie Menu Movie options, Autofocus mode and Electronic VR settings can be changed in the movie menu. Press the d button in movie mode to display the movie menu and use the rotary multi selector to modify and apply settings. D Selecting Movie Options The movie menu offers the options shown below. CMaximum Movie Length * All figures are approximate. The maximum recording time may vary with make of memory card. This camera can record movies up to a maximum of 25 minutes in length. Regardless of the remaining memory on the memory card, the movie length remaining displayed on the screen will be 25 minutes.
