FColor Options
Make colors more vivid or record pictures in monochrome.
At settings other than  Standard color, the icon for the current setting is displayed 
in the monitor ( A6). Monitor color tones also change depending upon the 
setting.
Set to  A / B  M  d  (Shooting menu)  M F Color options

Use for pictures exhibiting natural color.

GAF-Area Mode
Use this option to determine where the camera focuses.
When digital zoom is in effect, the camera will focus on the subject in the center 
focus area regardless of the applied  AF area mode option.
Set to A / B  M  d  (Shooting menu)  M G AF area mode

The camera automatically detects and focuses on a

DFocus Lock
Use focus lock to focus on off-center subjects when center is selected for AF area mode.
The following steps explain the usage of focus lock when Center is selected for  AF area mode .
1 Position the subject in the center of the frame.
2 Press the shutter-release button halfway. •Confirm that the focus area indicator is green.
• Focus and exposure are locked.

Shooting with Face PriorityThe camera automatically detects and focuses on a face looking toward the camera.
The face priority function will be enabled for the scenarios below.
• Face priority is selected for AF area mode ( A110)
• When  Scene auto selector  (A 42),  Por trait  (A 36) or  Night portrait  (A 37) 
is chosen for scene mode
• Smile mode ( A52)

•When  Fa ce prio rity  is selected for AF area mode, the setting will automatically switch to  Auto if 
no face is detected when the shutte r-release button is pressed halfway.

Functions that Cannot be Applied Simultaneously
Restrictions apply to the following settings in A (auto) mode and  B (high 
sensitivity) mode.
Flash mode
•Selecting  Continuous , BSS  or Multi-shot 16  for Continuous  changes the flash 
mode setting to  W (off ).
• Selecting  Single or Intvl timer shooting  for Continuous  restores the original 
flash mode setting.
Self-timer
•If self-timer is on, only one picture will be taken...

The playback menu contains the following options.
Displaying the Playback Menu
Enter the playback mode by pressing the c button ( A28).
Display the playback menu by pressing the  d button.
• Use the rotary multi selector to choose and apply settings ( A10).

Selecting PicturesThe picture selection screen, as shown at right, will be

Playback pictures, stored in the internal memory or on a memory card, one by one

Delete selected or all pictures.
CNotes on Deletion
•Once deleted, pictures cannot be recovered. Tr ansfer important images to a computer before 
deletion.
• Pictures marked with the  s icon are protected and cannot be deleted.
d Protect
Protect selected pictures from accidental deletion.
