    If	this	happens,	do	the	following:
    -	 Unplug	the	power	cord	from	the	power	outlet.
    -	 If	using	in	a	place	where	the	surrounding	temperature	is	high,	move	the	projector	to	a	different,	cool	place.
    -	 If	there	is	dust	in	the	ventilation	holes,	clean.	(→	pages	179	and	181)
    -	 Wait	as	such	about	1	hour	for	the	projector’s	internal	temperature	to	lower.

(→ page 184)•	 Check	to	see 	if 	the 	projector 	has 	overheated.     result of the computer’ s screen-saver or power management software�•	 See	also	the	page	233�
    Color tone or hue is 
    unusual•	 Check	if	an	appropriate	color	is	selected	in	[WALL	COLOR].	If	so,	select	an	appropriate	option.	(→ page 118)•	 Adjust	[HUE]	in	[PICTURE].	(→ page 110)
    Image isn’t square to 
    the screen

    If there is no picture, or the picture is not displayed correctly.
    •	 Power	on	process	for	the	projector	and	the	PC.
    	 Be	sure	to 	connect 	the 	projector 	and 	notebook 	PC 	while 	the 	projector 	is 	in 	standb y 	mode 	and 	bef ore 	tur ning 	on 	
    the	power	to	the	notebook	PC.
    	 In	most	cases 	the 	output 	signal 	from 	the 	notebook 	PC 	is 	not 	tur ned 	on 	unless 	connected 	to 	the 	projector 	bef ore 	
    being	powered	up.
    NOTE:	You	can 	check 	the 	horizontal 	frequency 	of 	the 	current 	signal 	in 	the 	projector’ s 	menu 	under 	Information. 	If 	it 	reads 	“0kHz”, 	
    this	means	there	is	no	signal	being	output	from	the	computer.	(→ page 134 or go to next step)
    •	 Enabling	the	computer’s	external	display.
    	 Displaying	an	image 	on 	the 	notebook 	PC’ s 	screen 	does 	not 	necessar ily 	mean 	it 	outputs 	a 	signal 	to 	the 	projector .	
    When	using	a 	PC 	compatib le 	laptop , 	a 	combination 	of 	function 	k eys 	will 	enab le/disable 	the 	e xternal 	displa y.	Usu-
    ally,	the	combination 	of 	the 	“Fn”	k ey 	along 	with 	one 	of 	the 	12 	function 	k eys 	gets 	the 	e xternal 	displa y 	to 	come 	on 	
    or	off.	For	example, 	NEC 	laptops 	use 	Fn 	+ 	F3, 	while 	Dell 	laptops 	use 	Fn 	+ 	F8 	k ey 	combinations 	to 	toggle 	through 	
    external	display	selections.
    •	 Non-standard	signal	output	from	the	computer
    	 If	the	output 	signal 	from 	a 	notebook 	PC 	is 	not 	an 	industr y 	standard, 	the 	projected 	image 	ma y 	not 	be 	displa yed 	
    correctly.	Should	this 	happen, 	deactiv ate 	the 	notebook 	PC’ s 	LCD 	screen 	when 	the 	projector 	displa y 	is 	in 	use .	Each 	
    notebook	PC	has 	a 	diff erent 	w ay 	of 	deactiv ate/reactivate 	the 	local 	LCD 	screens 	as 	descr ibed 	in 	the 	pre vious 	step .	
    Refer	to	your	computer’s	documentation	for	detailed	information.
    •	 Image	displayed	is	incorrect	when	using	a	Macintosh
    	 When	using	a 	Macintosh 	with 	the 	projector , 	set 	the 	DIPs witch 	of 	the 	Mac 	adapter 	(not 	supplied 	with 	the 	projector) 	
    according	to	your	resolution.	After 	 setting, 	 restart 	 your 	 Macintosh 	 for 	 the 	 changes 	 to 	 take 	 affect.
    	 For	setting	displa y 	modes 	other 	than 	those 	suppor ted 	b y 	y our 	Macintosh 	and 	the 	projector , 	changing 	the 	DIP 	s witch	
    on	a	Mac 	adapter 	ma y 	bounce 	an 	image 	slightly 	or 	ma y 	displa y 	nothing.	Should 	this 	happen, 	set 	the 	DIP 	s witch 	
    to	the	13" 	fix ed 	mode 	and 	then 	restar t 	y our 	Macintosh.	After 	that, 	restore 	the 	DIP 	s witches 	to 	a 	displa yable 	mode 	
    and	then	restart	the	Macintosh	again.
    NOTE:	A	Video 	Adapter 	cable 	manufactured 	by 	Apple 	Computer 	is 	needed 	for 	a 	PowerBook 	which 	does 	not 	have 	a 	mini 	D-Sub 	
    15-pin	connector.
    •	 Mirroring	on	a	PowerBook
    *	 When	using	the 	projector 	with 	a 	Macintosh 	P owerBook, 	output 	ma y 	not 	be 	set 	to 	1024 	× 	768 	unless 	“mirror ing”	
    is	off	on	your	PowerBook.	Refer 	 to 	 owner’s 	 manual 	 supplied 	 with 	 your 	 Macintosh 	 computer 	 for 	 mirroring.
    •	 Folders	or	icons	are	hidden	on	the	Macintosh	screen
