Control panel Selector buttons For selecting the option displayed next to them. For altering the values displayed (+/-). For scrolling to other menus. Display See next page for more information. Clear button For returning to the previous menu or deleting values which have been set previously. Delay start buttonwith indicator light For selecting the delay start function.Information button For displaying additional information about the option being displayed. On/Off button For switching the appliance on and off. Service interface Used by service technicians to run diagnostic checks on your appliance, or to update programming data in the future. In-operation indicator light Shows if a programme is running when the door is shut. Mielehome The appliance is compatible with the Mielehome system. This instruction book applies to several different dishwasher models. The specific dishwasher models are referred to as follows: Standard = 80.5 cm high dishwashers (integrated) and 84.5 cm high dishwashers (freestanding) XXL = 84.5 cm high dishwashers Guide to the appliance 6

Depending on country, this appliance is communication enabled and can be linked into the Mielehome system via a communication module(optional accessory). Mielehome enabled appliances send information via the household power supply networkto the master appliance/about the operational status of the appliances, as well as information about the progress of the programme. Displaying information, controlling appliances – SuperVision master appliance The status of other communication enabled appliances in the system can be shown in the display of the SuperVision master appliance. – Mobile terminal appliances/ A PC, Notebook or an iPod* / iPhone* can be used within the operating radius of a WLANto display status information about the networked appliances and to carry out some operational commands. – Household network Mielehome enables smarter living. With the Mielehome Gateway communication-enabled appliances can be integrated into the domestic bus system. * iPod und iPhone are registered trade marks of Apple Inc.Smart Grid / SmartStart Smart Grid enabled appliances can be started automatically to take advantage of cheaper electricity tariffs. Reduced electricity tariffs can be stored in the Mielehome Gateway, which then starts the appliance automatically at the right time. Correct application This dishwasher is not designed for commercial use. It is intended for use in domestic households and in similar working and residential environments. The dishwasher is not intended for outdoor use. It must only be used as a domestic appliance as specified in these operating instructions, for cleaning domestic crockery and cutlery. Any other usage is not supported by the manufacturer and could be dangerous. Miele cannot be held liable for damage resulting from incorrect or improper use or operation. The appliance can only be used by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, if they are supervised whilst using it, or have been shown how to use it in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Safety with children Children under 8 years of age must be kept away from the appliance unless they are constantly supervised. Children 8 years and older may only use the dishwasher if they have been shown how to use it in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children must not be allowed to clean or maintain the appliance unsupervised. Keep very young children away from it at all times and supervise them whilst you are using it. To prevent the risk of injury, do not allow them to play with it or use the controls. There is a danger that children playing might shut themselves in the dishwasher. Keep children away from detergents. Dishwasher detergents contain irritant and corrosive ingredients which can cause burning in the mouth, nose and throat if swallowed, or inhibit breathing. Keep children away from the dishwasher when the door is open. There could still be detergent residues in the cabinet.
