Special Functions Direct recording of a programmeOpening the menu If you wish to record the programme you are cur- rently watching, you can start a direct (one-touch) recording to make the current programme availa- ble to a recording device connected to the EURO sockets. 46 20. EPG EPGis an Electronic Program Guide containing programme information for all important stations. It is broadcast by various stations (in Germany by Kabel1 and RTL 2) and also includes the data for the other TV stations in the country. The TV set needs about 30 minutes to initially download the large amount of data. • On TV sets with two tuners, the EPG data are downloaded with the aid of the second tuner (see the next page). 47 20.1 Activating the EPG The EPG function can be activated by briefly pres- sing the EPG key if an EPG programme position has been defined in the menu (see below). 49 20.3 Using the EPG Once all of the EPG data have been collected, briefly pressing the EPG key displays the EPG with the current programme on the selected pro- gramme position highlighted. 50 20.3 Using the EPG Selecting a programme and viewing or setting a reminder In the EPG, you can select a programme with the cursor control key. • Press the OK key in order to - view the programme if it is already running, or - set a reminder for it if it has not yet started.
