accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.
•   Do not push objects into apparatus vents or slots 
because fire or electric shock hazards could result.
•   Maintain a minimum distance of at least 6 inches 
around apparatus for sufficient ventilation.
•   Ventilation should not be impeded by covering 
the ventilation openings with items, such as newspapers, table clothes, curtains, etc.
•   No naked (open) flame sources, such as lighted 
candles, should be placed on or near the apparatus.
•   Place apparatus in a stable location so it will not 
fall causing product damage or bodily harm. 
•   Do not install near any heat sources such as 
radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
•   Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized 
plug.  A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other.  The wide blade is provided for your safety.  If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet. •
  Operate the appartus only from the low level 
audio line output jack of the computer or of an audio device. 
•   Protect the power cord from being walked on 
or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
•   Only use attachments/accessories specified by the 
manufacturer.
•   Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or 
when unused for long periods of time. 
•   Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. 
Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped. 
•   The apparatus shall be disconnected from the 
mains by placing the power/standby switch in the standby position and unplugging the power cord 
of the speakers from the AC  mains receptacle.
•   The socket-outlet shall be installed near the 
equipment and shall be easily accessible.

Setting up your Logitech® X-540 Speakers
Important: For your safety, set up the system before plugging it into a power source.
1. Before attaching the cables to the subwoofer, position the two front satellite speakers on either side of 
your computer monitor about the same distance from each other as from you. Angle them to face you. Place the wired remote control within easy reach. Place the rear left and right satellite speakers behind you and about the same distance apart as the front speakers. Position the front center channel speaker on top of your monitor or on your desk in between your monitor and keyboard.
For best sound quality, place the subwoofer on the floor beneath your desk. Be sure to maintain at least 6 inches of spacing around the subwoofer to allow for adequate ventilation.
2.  Insert the colored plug from each satellite speaker into the corresponding colored jacks on the back of the 
subwoofer.
3.  A. If you have a PC and a:
•  6, 7 or 8 channel (5.1, 6.1 or 7.1) sound card: Connect all 3 colored plugs from the audio input cable to 
the color-coded jacks on the sound card.
1.  If jacks on your soundcard are not color coded, plug the audio input as follows:
 
•  green to front L/R (or #1) 
•  black to rear L/R (or #2) 
•  orange to center / sub (or #3)
•  4-channel sound card: Connect the green plug from the audio input cable to your sound card’s front 
jack and the black plug to your sound card’s rear jack. Do not use the orange plug.
•  2-channel sound card: Connect the green plug from the audio input cable to the “line out” jack on 
your sound card. Do not use the black or orange plugs. With a 2-channel sound card you will not hear sound from the rear speakers unless you activate Matrix mode.
B. If you have a video game console:
•  Connect the green plug from the audio input cable to 
the green jack on the video game adapter cable.
•  Connect the red and white RCA audio cables from your 
video game console to the RCA audio jacks on the video game adapter cable.
•  Turn on Matrix mode to get surround sound from your video game console. 
4.  Plug the subwoofer’s power cord into an electrical outlet.

Enjoying your Logitech® X-540 Speakers
Access these controls on the wired remote control:
Power Switch between standby (“off”) and on.
Volume Adjusts the overall system volume.
Bass Adjusts the subwoofer volume (bass level.)
Matrix Turns on Matrix mode. Use this button when you want to create 5.1 surround sound from 2-channel stereo sources like music and video game consoles.
Headphone Jack When headphones are used with your X-540 system, the speakers will mute automatically for private listening. Headphone volume is controlled by the soundcard on your computer. 
Dolby® DigitalThe X-540 speakers support Dolby® Digital sound on your PC if your 6-channel or greater sound card or DVD software can decode a Dolby® Digital soundtrack.

Mounting your Logitech® X-540 Speakers
Placing your speakers on top of a flat-panel LCD monitorThe center channel speaker can be mounted on top of a flat-panel LCD monitor.  Swivel the center channel base back and make sure the lip under the front of the speaker is touching the front of the LCD monitor.  Then, swivel the base back until it is touching the back of the LCD monitor and tighten the hinge screw for a secure fit.
Hanging your speakers on the wallYour Logitech® X-540 speaker satellites are wall mountable.  Swivel the satellite base to desired position, and use the  notch to hang your speaker on appropriate wall anchors.  Tighten the screw in the bottom of the base, if required.

Limited Warranty
Logitech warrants that any hardware product accompanying this documentation shall be free from significant defects in material and workmanship for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase. Logitech’s limited warranty is nontransferable and is limited to the original purchaser.  This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary under local laws.Remedies.   Branchez les haut-parleurs uniquement sur la prise 
de sortie audio de faible niveau de l’ordinateur ou d’un périphérique audio.
•   Evitez de marcher sur le cordon d’alimentation ou 
de le pincer, en particulier au niveau des prises, des socles de prises d’alimentation et du point de sortie de l’appareil.
•   N’utilisez que les éléments annexes et les 
accessoires spécifiés par le fabricant.
•   Débranchez cet appareil en cas d’orage ou si vous 
ne l’utilisez pas pendant des périodes prolongées.
•   Les réparations doivent être effectuées par des 
techniciens qualifiés. L’appareil doit être réparé dès qu’il a été endommagé (par exemple, au niveau du cordon d’alimentation ou de la prise), si un liquide a été renversé, si des objets sont tombés dessus, s’il a été exposé à la pluie ou à l’humidité, s’il ne fonctionne pas normalement ou s’il est tombé.
•   L’appareil doit être déconnecté de l’alimentation 
secteur en plaçant le commutateur d’alimentation en position veille et en débranchant le cordon d’alimentation des haut-parleurs de la prise secteur.

du produit et doit être facilement accessible.
