Operating\f1 Op\brating4 \fhanging subtitle code page y If the subtitle is displayed in broken letter, you can change the subtitle code page to view the subtitle file properly. 1. During playback, press IN\bO/DISPLAY ( m ) to display the playback menu. 2. Use \f/S to select the [\fode Page] option. 3. Use A/D to select desired code option. 4. Press BA\fK(x) to exit the On-Screen display. Audio \fD Recording You can record one desired track or all of the tracks in Audio \fD to a USB storage device. 1. Insert a USB storage device to the USB port on the front panel. 2. Press B (OPEN/\fLOSE), and place an Audio \fD on the disc tray. Press B (OPEN/\fLOSE) to close the disc tray. The playback starts automatically. 3. Press IN\bO/DISPLAY ( m ) to display the option menu. 4. Use \f/S to select [\fD Recording] option, and press ENTER (\b). 5. Use \f/S to select a track you wish to copy on the menu, and press ENTER (\b). Repeat this step to select tracks as many as you can. Selects all the tracks on an Audio \fD. Selects an encoding option from the pop-up menu (128kbps, 192kbps, 320kbps) \fancels the recording and returns to the previous screen. 6. Use \f/S/A/D to select [Start], and press ENTER (\b). 7. Use \f/S/A/D to select a destination folder to be copied. If you want to create a new folder, use \f/S/A/D to select [New \bolder] and press ENTER (\b ). Operating\f3 Op\brating4 Radio Operations Be sure that the antenna is connected. (Refer to the page 18) Listening to the radio 1. Press RADIO&INPUT ( P ) until TUNER (\bM) appears in the display window. T he last received station is tuned in. 2. Press and hold TUNING (-/+) for about two seconds until the frequency indication starts to change. Scanning stops when the unit tunes in a station. Or Press TUNING (-/+) repeatedly. 3. Adjust the volume by rotating VOLUME on the front panel or by pressing VOL (+/- ) on the remote control. Presetting the Radio Stations You can preset 50 stations for \bM. Before tuning, make sure that you have turned down the volume. 1. Press RADIO&INPUT ( P ) until the TUNER (\bM) appears in the display window. 2. Select the desired frequency by using TUNING (-/+). 3. Press ENTER (\b) a preset number will flash in the display window. 4. Press PRESET (-/+) to select the preset number you want. 5. Press ENTER (\b). The station is stored. 6. Repeat the steps 2 to 5 to store other stations. Deleting all the saved stations Press and hold \fLEAR for two seconds. “ERASE ALL” will flash up. T hen all the saved stations are deleted. Deleting a saved station 1. Press PRESET - / + to Select a preset number you want to delete. 2. Press \fLEAR, the preset number will blink in the display window. 3. Press \fLEAR again, to delete the selectd preset number. Improving poor FM reception Press B (blue) (MONO/STEREO) coloured button on the remote control. This will change the tuner from stereo to mono and usually improve the reception. P ress R DS r epeatedly to cycle through the various data types: PS(Programme Service Name) The name of the channel will appear in the display PTY(Programme Type Recognition) The programme type (e.g. Jazz or News) will appear in the display. RT(Radio Text) A text message contains special information from the broadcast station. This text may scroll across the display. \fT( Time controlled by the channel) This shows the time and date as broadcast by the station.

The unit does not start playback. yInsert a playable disc. (\fheck the disc type, colour system, and regional code.) yPlace the disc with the playback side down. yPlace the disc on the disc tray correctly inside the guide. y\flean the disc. y\fancel the Rating function or change the rating level. The angle cannot be changed.Multi-angles are not recorded on the DVD V ideo being played. \fannot play movie, photo or music files. yThe files are not recorded in a format that the unit can play. yThe unit does not support the codec of the movie file. The remote control does not work properly. yThe remote control is not pointed at the remote sensor of the unit. yThe remote control is too far from the unit. yThere is an obstacle in the path of the remote control and the unit. yThe batteries in the remote control are exhausted. The unit is plugged in, but the power will not turn on or off.You can reset the unit as follows. Unplug the power cord, wait at least five seconds, and then plug it in again.The unit is not operating normally.
\broubleshooting \f6 Troubl\bshooting5 Network Symptom \fause & Solution BD-Live feature does not work. yThe connected USB storage may not have enough space. \fonnect the USB storage with at least 1GB free space. yEnsure that the unit is correctly connected to the local area network and can access the internet (see page 20). yYour broadband speed may not fast enough to use the BD-Live features. \fontact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and increase the broadband speed is recommended. yThe [BD-LIVE connection] option in the [Setup] menu is set to [Prohibited]. Set the option to [Permitted]. Streaming video services (such as YouTube™, etc.) are often stopped or “buffer” during playback. Your broadband service speed may not be fast enough to stream video services. \fontact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and increase the broadband speed is recommended. Shared folder or files from media server are not displayed on the device list. The player is not connected to the local area network that your media server are connected. Picture Symptom \fause & Solution There is no picture. ySelect the appropriate video input mode on the T V so the picture from the unit appears on the TV screen. y\fonnect the video connection securely. y\fheck the [HDMI \folor Setting] in the [Setup] menu is set to the appropriate item that conforms to your video connection. yYour TV may not suppot the resolution you have set on the player. \fhange the resolution that your TV accepts. yThe player’s HDMI OUT jack is connected to a DVI device that does not support copyright protection. Picture noise appears yYou are playing a disc recorded in a color system that is different from your TV. ySet the resolution which your TV accepts. Blu-ray 3D disc playback does not output 3D views. y\fonnect the player to your TV with HDMI cable ( Type A, High Speed HDMI™ \fable). yYour TV may not support “HDMI 1.4 3D mandatory format”. yThe [3D Mode] option in the [Setup] menu is set to [Off ]. Set the option to [On].

Appendix\f9 App\bndix6 Network Software Update Network update notification \brom time to time, performance improvements and/or additional features or services may be made available to units that are connected to a broadband home network. If there is new software available and the unit is connected to a broadband home network, t he p layer w ill i nform y ou a bout t he update as follows. Option 1: 1. The update menu will appear on the screen when you turn on the player. 2. Use A/D to select a desired option and then press ENTER (\b). [OK\bStarts the software update. [Cancel\bExits the update menu and displays it next booting. [Hide\bExits the update menu and it does not appear until next software is uploaded in the update server. Option 2: If the software update is available from the update server, the “Software Update” icon appears at the bottom of the Home menu. Press blue (B) colored button to start the update procedure. Software Update You can update the player using the latest software to enhance the products operation and/or add new features.
