INTRODUCTION 1.2DEFENDER97MY Battery Voltage Before commencing diagnosisofelectrical problems verifythecondition ofthe battery isacceptable byusing theopen circuit voltage test. Opencircuit voltage test 1.Switch offallelectrical loadsonthe vehicle. 2. Adjust digitalmultimeter toread dcvolts onthe appropriate scale. 3. Connect testprobes acrossbattery terminals ensuringthatpolarity is correct andrecord thevoltage displayed. Areading of12.3V ormore isacceptable; anybattery whichreadsless than thiswillneed...
