Cassette 2
Follow the steps below to clear paper jams in cassette 2.
1Open left cover 2.
2Remove the jammed paper.
3Pull out cassette 2.
4Remove the jammed paper.
If the paper tears, remove 
every loose scrap from inside 
the machine.
5Push cassette 2 back in place securely.

6Close left cover 2.
Optional Cassettes 3 and 4
Follow the steps below to clear paper jams in cassettes 3 or 4 when using 
the optional paper feeder or 3,000-sheet capacity paper feeder.
1Open left cover 3.
2Remove the jammed paper.
If the paper tears, remove 
every loose scrap from inside 
the machine.
3Pull out the cassette in use.

6Close left cover 3.
Multi Purpose Tray
Follow the steps below to clear paper jams in the Multi Purpose Tray.
1Remove all papers from the 
Multi Purpose Tray.
2If a paper is jammed inside, lift 
the lever to remove the paper.
Inside the Left Covers 1, 2 and 3

1Open the left cover where the 
paper is jammed inside.
2Remove the jammed paper.
If the paper tears, remove 
every loose scrap from inside 
the machine.
3Close the left cover.
Duplex Unit
Follow the steps below to clear paper jams in the duplex unit.
1Pull up left cover 1 lever and 
open the left cover.
2Remove the jammed paper.

3Lift the duplex unit and remove 
the jammed paper.
4Press the specified position to 
close left cover 1.
Duplex Unit and Cassette 1
Follow the steps below to clear paper jams in duplex unit and cassette 1.
1Pull up left cover 1 handle and 
open left cover.
2Remove the jammed paper.

3Lift duplex unit and remove the 
jammed paper.
4Pull out cassette 1 and remove the jammed paper.

Paper Feed Unit
Follow the steps below to clear paper jams in the paper feed unit.
1Open left cover 1.

3Open front cover.
4Turn green knob (A1) 
clockwise.
5Remove the jammed paper.
If you cannot remove the 
paper, proceed with the next 
step.

6Pull out paper feed unit (A2).
7Open paper feed unit cover 
(A3) and remove the jammed 
paper.
8If the paper is torn, pull paper 
feed unit (A2) all the way out 
and lift it slightly to remove the 
paper.
9Remove the jammed paper.
If you cannot remove the 
paper, proceed with the next 
step.
10Push paper feed unit (A2) back in place, and close front cover.

11Press the specified position to 
close left cover 1.
Optional Document Processor
Follow the steps below to clear paper jams in the optional document 
processor.
1Remove the original from the 
original tray.
2Open the document processor 
top cover.
3Remove the jammed original.
If the original tears, remove 
every loose scrap from inside 
the machine.

original, turn the feed dial. The 
original will be pushed to a 
place where it is easier to 
remove.
4Lift reverse unit.
5Remove the jammed original.
If the original tears, remove every loose scrap from inside the machine.
6Replace reverse unit, and close the document processor top cover.
7Reload the originals on the document processor tray.
