We’re so confident the quality of our products meets the exacting standards of KitchenAid that, if your mixer should fail within the first year of ownership, KitchenAid will arrange to deliver an identical or comparable replacement to your door free of charge and arrange to have your “failed” mixer returned to us. Your replacement unit will also be covered by our one year full warranty. Please follow these instructions to receive this quality service. If you reside in the 50 United Statesand your KitchenAid®mixer should fail within the first year of ownership, simply call our toll-free Customer Satisfaction Center at 1-800-541-6390, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Eastern Time. Give the consultant your complete shipping address. (No P.O. Box Numbers, please.) When you receive your replacement mixer, use the carton and packing materials to pack-up your “failed” mixer. In the carton, include your name and address on a sheet of paper along with a copy of the proof of purchase (register receipt, credit card charge slip, etc.). For a detailed explanation of warranty terms and conditions, including how to arrange for service outside the United States, see pages 3 and 4. Hassle-Free Replacement Warranty Proof of Purchase & Product Registration Always keep a copy of the sales receipt showing the date of purchase of your mixer. Proof of purchase will assure you of in-warranty service. Before you use your mixer, please fill out and mail your product registration card packed with the unit. This card will enable us to contact you in the unlikely event of aproduct safety notification and assist us in complying with the provisions of the Consumer Product Safety Act. This card does not verify your warranty. During the warranty period, all service must be handled by an Authorized KitchenAid Service Center. Please bring the mixer, or ship itprepaid and insured, to the nearest Authorized Service Center. Call toll- free 1-800-541-6390to learn the location of a Service Center near you. Your repaired mixer will be returned to you prepaid and insured. Consult your local KitchenAid dealer or the store where you purchased thehand mixer for information on how to obtain service. 5 Electrical Requirements Troubleshooting Problems Volts: 120V A.C. only. Hertz: 60 Hz NOTE:This mixer has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way. If your mixer should malfunction or fail to operate, check the following: 1. Is the mixer plugged in? 2. Is the fuse in the circuit to the mixer in working order? If you have a circuit breaker box, make sure the circuit is closed. 3. Try unplugging the mixer, then plug it back in.If the problem cannot be corrected with the above steps, see the KitchenAid Warranty on page 3. Do not return the mixer to the retailer – they do not provide service.
Electronic C ontrol 6 KHM7T, KHM9P Hand Mixer Features The KitchenAid®Artisan®7-Speed and Professional 9-Speed Hand Mixers offer a host of conveniences, including extra low speeds for better control with heavy mixtures, and a special Soft Start™ Speed that helps prevent splattering when mixing begins. The Clean Touch™ Speed Control is simple to use and a breeze to clean, and the digital display shows you the mixing speed at a glance. An electronic sensor automatically adjusts the mixer power to maintain a steady beater speed when the firmness of your mix changes. 7 KHM7T, KHM9P Hand Mixer Features Clean Touch™ Speed Control Gives fingertip control of mixer speeds. Press the “On” button, and “0” will flash on the Speed Indicator showing that the mixer is ready to operate. Touch the “On” button again, and the mixer will start. While the mixer is running, touching the “On” button (▲) increases the mixer speed, touching the Down Arrow (▼) decreases the speed. Press the “Off” button to shut off the mixer. Easy-To-Read Speed Indicator Digital display shows mixing speed at a glance. A flashing “0” on the display indicates the mixer is plugged-in and ready to operate. Easy-To-Clean Design Smooth styling has no ingredient- trapping cracks or crevices. Makes cleanup easy. 8 How to Use the Mixer Be sure to read and follow the specific instructions in this manual for proper use of this mixer. NOTE: Flashing light indicates ready to operate. Do not touch beaters. If the mixer runs when “0” is flashing, or there is nothing displayed on the speed indicator, do not use it: call 1-800-541-6390to arrange for service. To Attach Accessories 1. Unplug the mixer from the electrical outlet. 2. Each pair of accessories (Turbo Beaters, optional Dough Hooks) will have one accessory with a collar (D), and one without (C). The hand mixer has a specific opening for each. Single accessories, like the optional Pro Whisk (included with Model KHM9P) or Liquid Blender Rod, will always have a collar (D). 3. Insert the accessory with a collar (D) into the larger opening (B) of the hand mixer. Line up the flangeson the accessory with the slots in the opening and push in until it locks into place. 4. Insert the accessory without a collar (C) into the smaller opening (A) of the hand mixer. Line up the flanges on the accessory with the slots in the opening and push in until it locks into place. To Remove Accessories 1. If the mixer is running, stop mixer by touching the “Off” button. 2. Unplug the mixer from the electrical outlet. 3. Press the Ejector Button (E) to release the accessories from the mixer, then remove them. AB CDWARNING Injury Hazard Unplug mixer before touching beaters.
