EmbroideryandMonogramming Satinstitchmethod Satinstitchcanbeusedtoproducemany differentdesignsandpatterns. 1.Setcontrolsthesameasforsatinstitch. 2.Backthefabricwithpaperorinterfacing. 3.Drawthedesignontothefabricwithtailors chalk. 4.Satinstitch,adjustingthestitchwidthas necessarytoformeachpattern. 5.Ifusingpaper,carefullyremoveitwhenyou havefinishedsewing. Freehandmethod 1.a.Attachthefeedcoverplate(seepage20). b.Removethepresserfootholder(see page19). c.Setthestitchwidthat1to5asdesired. 2.Drawthedesignontothefabricwithtailors chalk. 3.Stretchthefabricbetweenembroideryhoops andplaceundertheneedle. 4.Lowerthepresserfootlevertoengagethe topthreadtension. 5.a.Holdingthetopthreadinyourlefthand, rotatethehandwheeltowardyouone completeturn. b.Pullthetopthreadtodrawthebobbin threadthroughtothesurfaceofthefabric. 6.Usingamediumspeed,stitchalongthe markedoutline,guidingthefabriccarefully byhands. 31
Feedcover Buttonsewing 1.Attachthefeedcoverplate(seepage20). 2.Usecleartapetofixthebuttononyour fabricbeforestitching. . 4. 5. 6. NOTE:Whensewingaflatbutton,place apinbetweentheholessoyour buttonwillbelooseenoughfor easybuttoning. Alignthetwoholesofthebuttonwiththe slotofthepresserfoot. Lowerthepresserfoot.
