These Microdrives have been shipped since April, 2005 and
they will be replacing the Microdrives (P/N: 13G1764) in the
previous page.
When 6GB Microdrive was developed, the data transfer speed
and the areal density were improved. The improvement was
also applied to 4 GB Microdrive.
For the convenience sake, define the Microdrive with P/N:
13G1764 as an old type and the Microdrive with P/N: 0A40243
as a new type.

time regarding mass storage media. The new software HiTest is
introduced to countermeasure these matters. 
The failure detection capability goes down as there is no writing
test. However, our examination shows that the detection accura-
cy is not influenced by the lack of writing test as most Microdrives
which have detected errors in writing test also have errors...

in Customer Country, then press the Add button.
Input your base city in Customer City, then press the
Add button.
Once these items have been input, they can be selected
by pressing the pull down buttons next to input columns

the Delete button.

6.1  Test preparation
(1) Write down the serial number and the P/N (Part Num-
ber) displayed on the back of the Microdrive which is
to be tested.
(NOTE)
When writing down the serial number and the P/N,
check the Water Exposure Seal and any external
damages. If there is any abnormality, finish without
carrying out the test. 
(2) Insert the PCMCIA adaptor which is attached with Mi-
crodrive into the PCMCIA card slot on the PC.
