2 Important Safety InstructionsPlease read the following precautions before use: 1. Read these instructions. 2. Keep these instructions. 3. Heed all warnings. 4. Follow all instructions. 5. Do not use this apparatus near water. 6. Clean only with a dry cloth. 7. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. 8. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat. 9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type \ plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding-type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong is provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for \ replacement of the obsolete outlet. 10. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles and the point where they exit from the apparatus. 11. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer. 12. Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table specified by the manufacturer or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over. 13. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time. 14. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is req\ uired when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power supply cord or \ plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the appa\ ratus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate nor\ mally, or has been dropped. 15. Do not expose this apparatus to dripping or splashing and ensure tha\ t no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, are placed on the apparatus.\ 16. To completely disconnect this apparatus from the AC mains, disconnect the power supply cord plug from the AC receptacle. 17. The mains plug of the power supply cord shall remain readily operable. 18. Do not expose batteries to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like. The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol, within an equilateral triangle, is intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated “dangerous voltage” within the product’s enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock to persons. The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the literature accompanying the product. WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this apparatus to rain or moisture. Important Note for All Electronic Products: Before inserting or unplugging audio cables from the source device’s headphones or line-level output jacks, it is good practice to turn off the device first. This will prolong the life of your unit, help protect your device from static electricity and prevent potential damage.

Move the battery door to the unlocked position to open the battery compartment. or Step 3. Place 4 AAA batteries in the battery compartment. Step 5. Place the appropriate iPhone/iPod adapter onto JBL On Stage Micro II. Place your iPhone/iPod on the docking connector or connect a 3.5mm (1/8") stereo audio cable to the rear of the JBL On Stage Micro II. Connect the audio cable to the audio source. Step 4. Connect the power adapter into the jack labeled “6V DC In” on the rear of the JBL On Stage Micro II and plug the power adapter into a wall outlet or power strip.Step 6. Press the Power button on the back of the JBL On Stage Micro II. A green LED will light when the JBL On Stage Micro II system is on.Step 7. Adjust the volume using (+) to increase and (–) to decrease. Press both to mute the JBL On Stage Micro II. Press either button to unmute. Syncing and transfering files with your computer Make sure your iPhone/iPod is securely docked into the JBL On Stage Micr\ o II. Connect a USB cable (not included) into the USB jack on the back\ of the unit, connect other end of the USB cable directly to your computer’s USB port. Make sure your iPhone/iPod and iTunes ar\ e updated to the latest software version. * Auxilary audio cables not included-+

Touching both the (+) and (–) volume control pads at the same time will mute the system. Increase the volume level on the audio source device. Replace the batteries. Press the Play button on the iPhone/iPod or remote control. Note: If the iPhone/iPod is paused more than 10 min- utes, press the JBL On Stage Micro II Power button to turn the unit back on. Press either (+) or (–) to unmute. 6 Troubleshooting SymptomPossible Problem Solution No sound from the JBL On Stage Micro II speaker system (continued) The JBL On Stage Micro II has been muted for more than 10 minutes in the battery-only mode Press the JBL On Stage Micro II Power button to turn the unit back on. Press either (+) or (–) to unmute. No sound, no LED No audio signal has been received for 10 minutes and JBL On Stage Micro II is in standby mode Make sure audio signal is supplied through docked iPhone/iPod or “Audio In” jack. No power; green LED is not on Wall adapter is not plugged into the JBL On Stage Micro II correctly Wall adapter is not receiving AC power Check the connection of the wall adapter. Place the wall adapter in a known powered outlet. Test the outlet with a lamp or other device. Connect the JBL On Stage Micro II to a known audio source. Test the audio source with headphones.
7 SymptomPossible Problem SolutionNote There is no sound coming from the JBL On Stage Micro II. Sound comes from only one side/channel. Make sure that the wall outlet or power strip has power. Make sure that all switches for outlet/power strip are on and that all switches for the unit are on. Make sure that the iPhone/iPod is properly docked or that the auxiliary cable is properly con- nected. Turn up the volume. Check the unit with a source that you know to be good. Connect the “Aux In” cable to the headphone jack of your iPhone/iPod. Is the LED on? If the LED is not on, power is not getting to your JBL On Stage Micro II. Try the solutions shown. No power to unit. Incorrect source selection. iPhone/iPod or auxiliary cable is not seated properly. Make sure that the iPhone/iPod is seated all the way into the docking station. Make sure that the auxiliary cable is seated all the way into the jack. Try resetting the iPhone/iPod.If you are using a 3.5mm auxiliary extension cable, make sure it is a stereo cable. SymptomPossible Problem SolutionNote Distortion (static, cracking or hissing sounds). JBL On Stage Micro II emits a loud hum or buzzing noise. Speaker system experiences radio-frequency interference or picks up a radio-station trans- mission. Input cable is not plugged in properly. Cable may be bad. Ground logo (an unsuitable connection). Input cable may be picking up interference. Audio source or source material may be the problem. Test the JBL On Stage Micro II with another source. Does the distortion occur with specific songs? If so, check the recording or record the source again. Volume level may be too high. EQ setting may be too high. Check the EQ setting on your iPhone/iPod or source device.It is recommended that you set the source device EQ to “Flat” or “Off.” Check the volume of the source. Check the input cable connec- tion. Replace the cable. Turn the JBL On Stage Micro II off and connect it to another wall outlet. Purchase a ferrite core and wrap the excess cable around it. A ferrite core can be purchased at your local electronics store. Some devices will distort the output signal if the volume is set to maximum. 8 Troubleshooting

In the battery-only mode, the JBL On Stage Micro II loudspeaker dock wil\ l turn off to save battery power when muted or paused for longer than 10 minutes. 2. In the wall adapter power supply mode JBL On Stage Micro II will go \ into standby mode if no audio signal is detected for 10 minutes. The green LED will turn off. Once an audio signal is detec\ ted the speaker will return to normal playing mode and the green LED will light up. 3. iPod touch and iPhone menu navigation may require the user to manual\ ly put the iPhone/iPod in music mode. 4. When the batteries are low the “low battery LED” will turn on.\ Change batteries immediately or switch to the power adapter.
