11 OSD operationsMenu Operation 1. Press MENU button to display the main menu. 2. Press VOLUME UP/DOWN (VOL+/-) buttons to enter the needed menu. 3. Press PROGRAM DOWN (PROG-) button to highlight the desired menu/item. 4. Press VOLUME UP/DOWN (VOL+/-) buttons to adjust the setting. 5. Press MENU button to save setting and go back to last menu. 6. Press MENU button to exit the menu. Note:The buttons on the fro nt panel have the same functions as t he corresponding RC buttons. PICTURE MENU Enter Picture menu. You can adjust following parameters: brightness, contrast (to adjust the difference between the light and dark areas of the picture), saturation (to adjust the richness of the color), sharpness, hue, color tone, backlight (to adjust the level of back light, depending on room lighting), picture mode (to adjust the brightness, contrast, saturation and sharpness of the picture simultaneously). Notes: Saturation and sharpness are not available in PC mode. Hue is only available in NTSC mode. For Color Tone: Cool is for a more blue palette of picture colors, Warm is for a more red palette of picture colors, and Normal is between the two. Personal is only available in PC mode. GEOMETRY MENU Enter Geometry menu. The menu is only available in PC and component input modes. You can adjust following parameters: H-position (to adjust the horizontal position of the picture), V-position (to adjust the vertical position of the picture), H-size (to adjust the sampling frequency of A/D), Phase (to adjust the sampling phase of A/D), AUTO (to adjust the screen display to the best state automatically). Notes: For H-size: the option is usually adjusted with H-position and V-position; this can make picture get better quality. You also can use AUTO function to make picture better. For Phase: you canadjust this value accordingly if there are close bright dots on the picture or linear shimmer phenomenon happens. SOUND MENUEnter Sound menu. You can adjust following parameters:volume, bass, treble, balance (to adjust how much loudnessis sent to the left and right speaker), surround (ON/OFF),AVL (aut o vo lume level funct io n ON/OFF).Note: Surround and AVK are not available in TV mode.
12INSTALLATION MENUEnter Installation menu. Following options are available forsetting:Channel. To set the received TV channel number. You canalso change the channel by pressing number buttons.Color System. To select color system.Sound System. To select sound system. If there is no soundor sound is week, you should change the sound systemacco rdingly. Auto Scan. To search and save channels automatically. If you press the MENU button to stop Auto scan process, the last saved channel will be shown. The TV is mute when starting Auto scan. You need set the correct sound system according your local signal to get good performance before or after auto scan. Manual. To search channels manually. The searching process will stop when a channel has been found, and the channel will be saved. Press MENU to stop the searching process. You can start searching fro m any frequency by changing channel number or band. Fine Tuning. To tune RF frequency finely. Band. To set the proper band when starting manual search. Channel edit. Select the item to access channel edit function pro viding fo llo wing sub-it ems. Skip. Sets the current channel to skip or not. If the channel is set to skip, you cannot select it by pressing PROG+/- buttons on the RC. You can select it exactly by entering channel number using number buttons. If a channel is set to skip, the channel number color shows on the screen as red. Swap channel. Change Current channel and Swap channel to numbers of the channels you want to swap. Favorite channel. Select favorite channel you want from FAV.CH1 to FAV.CH8. FUNCTION MENU Enter function menu. You can adjust following parameters: language (to select OSD language), PQ effect (to set picture quality improvement function ON/OFF), black extend (to set black level extend function ON/OFF), blue screen (ON/OFF). TIMER MENU Enter timer menu. You can adjust following parameters: time (to set the current time), turn off (to set a time for t he TV to turn itself off), turn on (to set a time for the TV to turn itself on), turn on source (to set a signal source for the TV to turn itself on), turn on channel (to set a channel for the TV to turn itself on), calendar (disp lays t he current date, month and year). Note: Turn o n channel funct io n is o nly available in TV mo de.
13 TroubleshootingBefore calling a technician, please check the following items to see whether you can easily diagnose and fix the encountered symptoms on your own. 14 The causes of interferenceIncorporated in your TV receiver are the most up-to-date devices to eliminate interference. Local radiation however, can create disturbances, which visibly affect your picture. Proper installations, a good aerial are your best safeguards against these disturbances. xRF INTERFERENCE Moving ripples across the screen are caused by nearby transmitting or receiving short-wave radio equipment. xDIATHERMY Herringbone pattern and partial picture loss can result from the operation of diathermy equipment from a nearby doctors surgery or hospital. xSNOW Weak TV signals from long distant stations result in an instead picture and give the effect of falling snow. An antenna adjustment or antenna amplifier may be needed. xGHOST Multiple image caused by TV signals reflected back from surrounding buildings, hills, aircraft, et c. is minimized by co rrect aerial po sit io ning. xCAR IGNITION Nearby cars and electrical motors can cause small streaks across the picture or make the picture ro ll.
