103 Heirloom Sewing Bridging Stitch Select the bridging stitch to sew two pieces of fabric or trim with edges butted together. Use this technique to join strips of lace and/or rib- bon and to stitch them to a fi nished fabric edge. The bridging stitch is preferred for this type of joining for a fl at, neat result.
