    							24.Remove the display hinges (2). The display hinges are available using spare part number
    498136-001.
    NOTE:Steps 25 through 40 provide display internal component removal information for computer
    models equipped with BrightView display assemblies. See steps 5 through 24 for display internal
    component removal information for computer models equipped with AntiGlare display assemblies.
    25.If it is necessary to replace the display bezel or any of the display assembly internal components,
    remove the following screw covers and screws:
    (1) Two rubber screw covers on the display bezel bottom edge. The display rubber screw covers
    are included in the Rubber Kit, spare part number 480442-001.
    (2) Two Phillips PM2.5×6.0 screws.
    26.Flex the inside edges of the left and right sides (1) and the top and bottom sides (2) of the display
    bezel until the bezel disengages from the display enclosure.

    							27.Remove the display bezel (3). The display bezel is available using spare part number
    480444-001.
    28.If it is necessary to replace the display inverter, release the display inverter (1) as far as the display
    panel cable and backlight cable allow.
    29.Disconnect the display panel cable (2) and the backlight cable (3) from the display inverter.
    30.Remove the display inverter. The display inverter is available using spare part number
    480447-001.
    31.If it is necessary to replace the display panel, remove the eight Phillips PM2.5×4.0 screws (1) that
    secure the display panel to the display enclosure.
    32.Release the display panel (2) as far as the display logo LED board cable allows.

    							33.Disconnect the display logo LED board cable (3) from the display panel cable.
    34.Remove the display panel. The display panel is available using the following spare
    part numbers:
    ●480441-001 (17.0-inch, WSXGA+ BrightView display panel)
    ●480440-001 (17.0-inch, WXGA BrightView display panel)
    35.If it is necessary to replace the display hinges, remove the four Phillips PM2.0×4.0 screws (1) that
    secure each display hinge to the display panel.
    36.Remove the display hinges (2). The display hinges are available using spare part number
    480448-001.
    37.If it is necessary to replace the wireless antenna transceivers and cables, remove the Phillips
    PM2.5×4.0 screw (1) that secures each transceiver to the display enclosure.
    38.Detach the wireless antenna transceivers (2) from the display enclosure.

    							39.Remove the wireless antenna cables from the tabs (3) built into the display enclosure shielding.
    40.Remove the wireless antenna cables (4). The wireless antenna transceivers and cables are
    available using the following spare part numbers:
    ●489804-001 (for use with computer models equipped with an 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN module)
    ●487748-001 (for use with computer models equipped with an 802.11a/b/g or 802.11b/g WLAN 
    module)
    Reverse this procedure to reassemble and install the display assembly.

    							Top cover

    Before removing the top cover, follow these steps:
    1.Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
    computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
    2.Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
    3.Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and
    then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
    4.Remove the battery (see 
    Battery on page 54).
    5.Remove the following components:
    a.Hard drive (see 
    Hard drive on page 59)
    b.Optical drive (see 
    Optical drive on page 57)
    c.Keyboard (see 
    Keyboard on page 71)
    d.Switch cover (see 
    Switch cover on page 69)
    e.Speaker assembly (see 
    Speaker assembly on page 75)
    f.Display assembly (see 
    Display assembly on page 76)
    Remove the top cover:
    1.Turn the computer upside down, with the front toward you.
    2.Remove the four Phillips PM2.5×13.0 screws that secure the top cover to the computer.

    							3.Remove the eight Phillips PM2.5×4.0 screws secure the top cover to the computer.
    4.Disconnect the Bluetooth module cable (1) from the system board.
    5.Release the ZIF connector to which the TouchPad cable (2) is attached and disconnect the cable
    from the system board.
    6.Release the ZIF connector to which the fingerprint reader board cable (3) is attached and
    disconnect the cable from the system board.

    							7.Remove the six Phillips PM2.5×6.0 screws that secure the top cover to the base enclosure.
    8.Remove the five Phillips PM2.5×4.0 screws that secure the top cover to the base enclosure.
    9.Lift the rear edge of the top cover (1) until it disengages from the computer, and then lift the top
    cover (2) up and remove it.
    Reverse this procedure to install the top cover.

    							Fingerprint reader board

    Before removing the fingerprint reader board, follow these steps:
    1.Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
    computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
    2.Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
    3.Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and
    then unplugging the AC Adapter from the computer.

    1.Turn the top cover upside down, with the front toward you.
    2.Remove the two Phillips PM2.0×3.0 broad-head screws (1) that secure the fingerprint reader board
    to the top cover.

    							3.Remove the fingerprint reader board (2) and cable from the top cover.
    Reverse this procedure to install the fingerprint reader board.
    TouchPad on/off button board

    Before removing the TouchPad on/off button board, follow these steps:
    1.Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
    computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
    2.Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
    3.Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and
    then unplugging the AC Adapter from the computer.

    							Remove the TouchPad on/off button board:
    1.Turn the top cover upside down, with the front toward you.
    2.Release the ZIF connector to which the TouchPad on/off button board cable (1) is attached, and
    then disconnect the cable from the TouchPad button board.
    3.Remove the Phillips PM2.5×4.0 screw (2) that secures the TouchPad on/off button board to the
    top cover.
    4.Remove the TouchPad on/off button board (3) and cable from the top cover.
    Reverse this procedure to install the TouchPad on/off button board.
    TouchPad button board

    Before removing the TouchPad button board, follow these steps:
    1.Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
