Sleep Delay and Sleep Mode features The SLEEP DELAY feature determines how long the printer must be inactive before it switches to sleep mode to reduce power consumption. You can set the length of time before the printer goes into sleep mode to one of the following settings: ● 1 MINUTE ● 15 MINUTES ● 30 MINUTES (the default setting) ● 45 MINUTES ● 60 MINUTES ● 90 MINUTES ● 2 HOURS ● 4 HOURS NOTE: The printer display appears dimmed when the printer is in sleep mode. Manage stored jobs NOTE:This feature is available only for printers with installed hard drives. To store print jobs on the printer, use the Job Storage tab in the printer driver Properties dialog box. After a job is stored, you can print it or delete it from the printer control panel. Control print jobs In Windows, three settings affect how the printer driver pulls media when you send a print job. The Source, Type , and Size settings appear in the Page Setup, Print , or Print Properties dialog boxes in most software programs. If you do not change these settings, the printer automatically uses the default printer settings to select a tray.
