Bypassing Protection Zones (cont’d) – 21 – Quick Bypass Ask your installer if Quick Bypass is active for your system, and if so, check here: If your system supports Quick Bypass, it allows y ou to easily bypass all open (faulted) zones without having to enter zone number s individually. Using the Keyswitch – 22 – General Your system may be equipped with a keyswitch for use when arming and disarming. A single red light on the keyswitch plate indicates the status of your system as follows: OFF = Disarmed, Not Ready for Arming SLOW FLASHING = Disarmed, Ready for Arming RAPID FLASHING = Armed STAY or AWAY Arming To arm in the AWAY mode, turn key to right for 1/2 second. Chime Mode – 23 – Using the 9 CHIME Key This feature can be used only while the burglary system is disarmed. Your system can be set to alert you to the opening of a door or window while it is dis- armed by using CHIME mode. When activated, three to nes will sound at the Keypad whenever a protected door or window is opened. Pres sing the READY key will display the open points. Panic Keys – 24 – Using Panic Keys Your system may have been programmed to use special keys or combinations of keys to manually activate emergency (panic) functions. Testing the System – 26 – Using the 5 TEST Key The TEST key puts your system into Test mode, which allows each protection point to be checked for proper operation. Testing should be conducted weekly to ensure proper operation. NO ALARM REPORTS WILL BE SENT TO THE CENTRAL MONITO RING STATION while the system is in Test mode. 1. Trouble Conditions – 27 – Check and Battery Displays The word CHECK on the keypads display, accompanied by a beeping at the keypad, indicates a trouble condition in the system . To silence the beeping for these conditions, press an y key. 1. A display of CHECK and one or more zone numbers indicates that a problem exists with the displayed zone(s) and requi res your attention. Fire Alarm System – 29 – IF INSTALLED General Your fire alarm system (if installed) is on 24 hours a day, for continuous protection. In the event of an emergency, the strategically loc ated smoke and heat detectors will automatically send signals to your system, triggeri ng a loud, interrupted sound from the Keypad.
