If it comes on while engine is running: (P95) PGM-FI (Programmed Fuel Injection) malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) High coolant temperature indicator If it comes on while riding: (P94) Comes on briefly when the ignition switch is turned on with the engine stop switch in the RUN position. 32 Switches (Continued) Operation Guide (NC700SD) Parking brake lever and Release button Be sure the parking brake is applied while parking and warming up the engine. uMake sure the parking brake le ver is released before riding. To apply the parking brake lock Pull the parking brake lever back to lock the rear wheel. uBe sure the release button pops out and parking brake lever is not released. u The parking brake lock will not function if the parking brake is not adjusted properly. (P80) To release the parking brake lock Release the parking brake lever by lightly pulling in the lever ( !a) and pressing the release button ( !b). uBefore riding, check that the parking brake indicator is turned off an d make sure that the parking brake is fully released so there is no drag on the rear wheel. 34 Operation Guide Starting the Engine (NC700S/SA) Start your engine using the following procedure, regardless of whether the engine is cold or warm.!a Make sure the engine stop switch is in the RUN position. ! b Turn the ignition swit ch to the ON position. ! c Shift the transmission to Neutral ( indicator comes on). Alte rnatively, pull in the clutch lever to start your motorcycle with the transmission in gear so long as the side stand is raised. ! d Press the start button with the throttle completely closed. If the engine does not start: !a Open the throttle fully and press the start button for 5 seconds. !b Repeat the normal starting procedure. !c If the engine starts, ope n the throttle slightly if idling is unstable. !d If the engine does not start, wait 10 seconds before trying steps !a & !b again. ❙If Engine Will Not Start (P93) NOTICE •If the engine does not start within 5 seconds, turn the ignition off and wait 10 seconds before trying to start the engine again for recovery of battery voltage. • Extended fast idling and revving the engine can damage the engine, and the exhaust system. • Snapping the throttle or fast idling for more than about 5 minutes may cause exhaust pipe discolouration. ! a ! d ! b ! c N 12 NC700S (NM-1)-32MGS600.book 34 ページ 2012年4月18日 水曜日 午後6時17分

37continued Operation Guide (NC700SD) Your motorcycle is equipped with an automatically controlled 6-speed transmission. It can be shifted automatically (by AT MO DE) or manually (by MT MODE). Dual Clutch Transmission In order to respond to rider demands in a broad range of situations, the transmission is equipped with three operating modes, AT MODE (including D mode for regular operation and S mode for sporty riding); and MT MODE (MT mode for a 6-speed manual operation), which delivers the same shift feel as a manual transmission. uAlways use the recommended tyres and sprockets to ensure co rrect the Dual Clutch Transmission operation. The Dual Clutch Transmission system runs a self check immediately after starting the engine. “-” appears in the gear position indicator window for a few seconds, then goes out.
