    4Bring the device within 3 m (10 ft.) of the heart rate monitor.
    After you put on the heart rate monitor, it is active and sending 
    data.
    TIP:If the heart rate data is erratic or does not appear, see the 
    troubleshooting tips (TipsforErraticHeartRateData, page 7).
    SettingYourHeartRateZones
    The device uses your user profile information from the initial 
    setup to determine your default heart rate zones. For the most 
    accurate calorie data during your activity, set your maximum  heart rate. You also can set each heart rate zone and enter your 
    resting heart rate manually. You can adjust your zones manually 
    on the device or using your 
    Garmin Connect account.
    1Select the action key.
    2Select Settings ! UserProfile ! HeartRateZones.
    3Select BasedOn, and select an option.
    
    						
    							Each time you complete a lap, a message appears that displays the time for that lap. The device also vibrates if vibration is 
    turned on
     (SystemSettings, page 9).
    If necessary, you can customize the data screens to display 
    additional lap data (CustomizingtheDataScreens, page 8).

    LastLengthStrokeRate: The average number strokes per 
    minute (spm) during the last completed pool length.
    LastLengthStrokes: The total number of strokes for the last 
    completed pool length.
    LastLengthSWOLF: The swolf score for the last completed 
    pool length.
    Lengths: The number of pool lengths completed during the 
    current activity.
    MaximumSpeed: The top speed for the current activity.
    Pace: The current pace.
    Speed: The current rate of travel.
    Sunrise: The time of sunrise based on your GPS position.
    Sunset: The time of sunset based on your GPS position.
    Temperature: The temperature of the air. Your body 
    temperature affects the temperature sensor.
    TimeofDay: The time of day based on your current location 
    and time settings (format, time zone, daylight saving time).
    Timer: The stopwatch time for the current activity.
