21 Setting Up the Printer|21 Unpacking the Printer and Mounting It on the Stand 1. Make sure you have all the items shown below: 2. Remove the cardboard panels and other packing materials from around the printer. 3. Have four people lift the printer using the handgrips, two in front and two in back. Roll paper holders Documentation and software CD 11 Ink cartridges Power cord Cable guides Printer Bundled roll paper Note: Make sure you save the box and packaging in case you need to ship the printer. WARNING: Four or more people are required to lift the printer. To avoid damaging the printer, hold it only by the four handgrips.
22 22|Setting Up the Printer 4. Lower the printer onto the stand with the stand’s horizontal strut in front, as shown. Align the pegs on the stand with the holes on the bottom of the printer. 5. Fasten the printer to the stand with the wing screws and washers.
23 Setting Up the Printer|23 Attaching the Paper Basket The paper basket is a cloth sheet that attaches to the printer stand and catches your paper prints as they come out. 1. Make sure you have all the parts shown below: 2. Insert the two short posts as shown, one on each side of the stand. 2 Paper guides1 Square pole and 2 round poles 2 Pins Basket cloth 2 Posts2 Black plastic connectors Rod
24 24|Setting Up the Printer 3. Use the pins to fasten the posts in place. Make sure the pins are pushed in all the way. 4. Insert the round and square poles into the basket cloth as shown.
25 Setting Up the Printer|25 5. Place the basket under the printer as shown. 6. Snap the center pole into the holders on each side of the stand.
26 26|Setting Up the Printer 7. Push the black plastic connectors onto both ends of the square pole. 8. Push the black plastic connectors onto the posts on each side of the stand.
27 Setting Up the Printer|27 9. Snap the back pole into the holders as shown. 10. Hook the loops around the pins on the back of the stand legs.
28 28|Setting Up the Printer 11. Insert the rod into the fabric channel. 12. Insert the free ends of the rod into the holes in the sides of the stand.
29 Setting Up the Printer|29 13. To keep the cloth off the ground, loop the tabs over the ends of the rod as shown. 14. Attach the paper guides to the bottom of the printer as shown: 15. Make sure the paper guides hang straight down, then fold the paper basket all the way up so it’s in the vertical position.
30 30|Setting Up the Printer Assembling the Film Basket The film basket is used when printing on special media such as Epson ClearProof Film, and can be detached and stored when printing on paper (see page 64). Follow the steps below to prepare it for use. 1. Make sure you have all the parts shown below: 2. Position the film basket guides as shown, with the channels in the guides facing each other.
