Printing on CDs and DVDs31 Loading a CD or DVD 1. First burn files, music, or video onto your CD or DVD before printing on it to prevent errors. 2. Turn on the printer. 3. Clean the rollers inside the printer (see page 30). 4. Remove any paper loaded in the sheet feeder and remove the single sheet guide, if it is installed. Also close the paper support. 5. 32Printing on CDs and DVDs 7. Insert the CD/DVD tray into the tray guide and slide it into the printer beneath the guide rails until the arrows are aligned. When you send your CD/DVD print job to the printer, it automatically places the disc in the correct print position and ejects it automatically when printing finishes. 38Maintaining Your Printer Make sure you have a new ink cartridge before you begin. You must install new cartridges immediately after removing the old ones. 1. Remove any roll paper or canvas media loaded in the printer to prevent ink marks on the paper (see page 12). 2. Open the printer cover. 3. Press the Hink button to move the print head to the ink replacement position. If a cartridge is low or expended, the light above the cartridge flashes or stays on. Note: All cartridges, except the gloss optimizer cartridge, make a clicking sound when you shake them. Caution: Do not shake the cartridges after opening the packages or ink will leak. 7.
