Copying a Photo11 Copying a Photo You can copy photos onto 4 × 6-inch Epson photo paper (various types available) for instant photo reprints. You can also convert color photos to black-and-white. 1. Press the POn button to turn on your Epson printer. 2. Load 4 × 6-inch Epson photo paper in the sheet feeder (see page 5). 3. Place your original photo on the scanner glass (see page 9). 4. Press the Copy button to enter copy mode. 5. To print more than 1 copy, press + or – to select the number (up to 99). 6. Press lorrto select Color or B&W copies. 7. To adjust the copy size, press the Copy button and select a percentage using + or –. Or you can press lorrto select Auto (to automatically size the image to fit your paper). When you’re finished, press the Copy button again. 8. Press the paper size button, if necessary, to select 4× 6 Photo Paper. 9. Press xStart to begin copying. 12Printing From a Memory Card Printing From a Memory Card Your Epson printer lets you print photos directly from your digital camera’s memory card; just insert it into the memory card slot and you’re ready to print. See the on-screen Epson Information Center for instructions on copying memory card files between your Epson printer and a computer, and printing photos pre- selected in your camera (DPOF™ or Digital Print Order Format). Inserting the Card13 Inserting the Card 1. Make sure your Epson printer is turned on. 2. Insert your card as shown. Note: Do not force the card into the slot; it won’t go in all the way. The memory card access light flashes, then stays lit. Now you can: ■View your photos on the LCD display screen and print them (see page 14) ■Print an index sheet so you can select which photos to print (see page 15) When you want to remove the card, make sure the memory card access light is not flashing, then pull the card straight out of its slot. If your printer is connected to your computer, first prepare the card for removal: ■If the computer is running Windows, click the or icon on the taskbar and select Safely remove USB Mass Storage Device. Once you see a confirmation message, remove the card. ■If your printer is connected to a Macintosh, drag the removable disk icon from your desktop into the trash, then remove the card. Caution: Do not remove the card or turn off your printer while the memory card access light is flashing; you may lose data on the card. Memory card access light
14Printing From a Memory Card Printing Photos From the LCD Screen You can select individual photos for printing as you view them on the LCD display screen. 1. Load several sheets of 4 × 6-inch Epson photo paper (various types available; see page 7). 2. Press the Print photos button. You see this screen: 3. Press lorrto move through your photos and display one that you want to print. 4. Press the + or – button to select the number of copies you want of that photo. 5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to select more photos, if you want. 6. Press the paper size button, if necessary, to select 4× 6 Photo Paper. 7. When you’re ready to print, press xStart. To cancel printing, press yStop/Clear Settings. Paper size button
Printing Photos From an Index Sheet15 Printing Photos From an Index Sheet You can print an index sheet containing small versions of all the photos on your memory card. Then you can select the photos you want by marking them on the sheet and scanning the sheet. Your Epson printer automatically prints them. Printing an Index Sheet 1. Load several sheets of plain letter- or A4-size paper (see page 5). 2. Insert a memory card (see page 13). 3. Press the Index Sheet button. 4. Make sure option 1 is selected (for printing the index sheet), then press xStart. The most recent photos are printed on the first index sheet, up to 30 photos per page. If you need to cancel printing, press yStop/Clear Settings. Now you can select the photos you want to print (see the next section). Printing Photos From the Index Sheet Once you have printed an index sheet, you can mark the photos you want to print right on the sheet, scan the sheet, and print the photos automatically. 1. Use a dark pen or pencil to fill in the circles on the sheet. Note: Do not use a permanent marker or felt-tip pen; these could damage the scanner glass. ■Select the paper type and size you want to use. ■Select a Borderless or With Border layout. ■If you want to print the date the photo was taken on each photo, fill in the Print date on photos circle. ■Fill in one circle beneath each photo you want to print. The numbers indicate how many copies you want of that photo. To print one copy of all the photos on the index sheet, fill in the All circle at the top. Incorrect: Correct:

Then place the index sheet face-down on the glass, in the lower right corner so that the top of the sheet is aligned against the right edge of the glass. Close the document cover. 3. Load the type of photo paper on which you want to print your photos. Note: For best results, use Epson Ultra Premium Photo Paper Glossy, Epson Premium Photo Paper Glossy, or Epson Premium Photo Paper Semi-gloss. 4. Make sure your memory card is still inserted and the LCD screen shows option 2 selected (for scanning the index sheet). 5. Press xStart to start scanning and printing. Wait until printing finishes before printing from any additional index sheets. If you need to cancel printing, press yStop/Clear Settings.
Printing From Your Computer17 Printing From Your Computer This section describes the basic steps for printing a photo or document stored on your Windows® or Macintosh® computer. For detailed instructions on printing, see the on-screen Epson Information Center. Before you start, make sure you’ve installed your printer software and connected your Epson printer to your computer as described on the Start Here sheet. Tip: It’s a good idea to check for updates to your Epson printer’s software (see page 34 for instructions). Printing in Windows 1. Open a photo or document in a Windows program. 2. Open the File menu and select Print. You see a window like this one: 3. Make sure your Epson printer is selected, then click the Preferences or Properties button. (If you see a Setup, Printer, or Options button, click it. Then click Preferences or Properties on the next screen.) Click here to open your printer software Select your Epson printer
18Printing From Your Computer 4. On the Main tab, select the basic print settings. Make sure you choose the correct paper Type setting for the paper you are using (see page 24 for details). Note: For quick access to the most common settings, click the Shortcuts tab and select one of the presets. You can create your own presets by clicking the Save Settings button on the Advanced tab. 5. If you want to reduce or enlarge your printout, or print double-sided, click the Page Layout tab and select settings as necessary. 6. For more printing options, click the Advanced tab. Note: For more information about print settings, click Help or see your on-screen Epson Information Center. 7. Click OK to save your settings. Note: If the setting you want isn’t shown (for example, Scale), check for it in your application before printing. Or check for it in the settings for your application at the bottom of this window.
