Selecting the paper size
Before you receive a fax, be sure to load plain paper 
and set the Paper Size setting to the size of paper you 
have loaded. Also make sure the Automatic 
Reduction setting is set to receive faxes in the desired 
size (&“Selecting send/receive settings” on page 9).

10. To change the Dial Mode setting, press the xOK 
button and go to step 11.
To change another Communication setting, press 
the u or d button, or press the 2, 3, 4, or 5 key on 
the numeric keypad, to display one of these 
options:
■2.DRD
■3.ECM
■4.V.34
■5.Rings to Answer
Then press the xOK button.

Editing a speed dial entry
1. Press the   [Fax] button once to enter Fax 
mode. The   [Fax] button lights up and 
you see this screen.
2. Press the F[FSetup] button. You see this 
screen.
3. Press the uord button, or press the 3 key on the 
numeric keypad, to select 3.Speed Dial Setup.
4. Press the xOK button. You see this screen.

If you need to fax another page, press the 1key 
(for Yes). Open the document cover, remove 
your first original, place your next original, and 
close the document cover. Then press the xOK 
button to fax the next page. Repeat this step to 
fax all the necessary pages.
Note:
If you are sending a color fax, or a large document that fills up 
the memory area, the product scans and faxes one page at a 
time. It then asks if you want to send another page. The fax...

Setting or adjusting resolution and 
contrast
If you want to set or adjust resolution, follow the 
steps below.
1. Press the   [Fax] button until you see this 
screen.
2. Press the xOK button. 
3. Press the uord button to select resolution.
4. Press the xOK button. You return to 
1.Resolution.
5. Press the yStop [yCancel/Back] button until 
you return to the first screen.

Epson offers an extensive line of special papers that 
provide outstanding results when used with Epson 
printers and ink. The type of paper you choose 
affects the way your printout looks, so be sure to 
select the correct paper for your job. 
Selecting Paper
If you are just making a copy or printing a rough 
draft of an image, plain paper is fine. However, for 
the best results, you will want to use one of Epson’s 
special ink jet papers designed for the...

Copying
You can copy documents and photos without a 
computer.
Note the following when copying:
■The copied image may not be exactly the same 
size as the original.
■Depending on the type of paper used, print 
quality may decline in the top and bottom areas 
of the printout, or these areas may be smeared.
■Keep the document table clean.
■Make sure the document or photo is flat against 
the document table; otherwise, the copy will be 
out of focus.
