Toensure properdatatransmission, useaCategory 5shielded cableorbetter. 1. Connect oneendofthe network cabletoyour network hub,switch, orrouter. 2. Connect theother endofthe cable tothe projectors LANport. Note: Makesureyoualready connected theprojector toyour wired network usingtheLAN port. 1. Turn onthe projector. 2. Press theMenu button. 41
3. Select theNetwork menuandpress Enter. 4. Select Network Configuration andpress Enter. 5. Select theBasic menuandpress Enter. 6. Select thefollowing basicoptions asnecessary: • Projector Nameletsyou enter aname upto16 alphanumeric characterslongtoidentify the projector overthenetwork. • PJLink Password letsyou enter apassword upto32 alphanumeric characterslongforusing the PJLink protocol forprojector control. • Web Control Password letsyou enter apassword upto8alphanumeric characterslongfor accessing theprojector overtheweb. (Default username isEPSONWEB ;default password is admin .) • Projector Keywordletsyou turn onasecurity password toprevent accesstothe projector by anyone notinthe room withit.You must enter adisplayed, randomized keywordfromacomputer using theEasyMP NetworkProjection softwaretoaccess theprojector. Note: Usethedisplayed keyboardtoenter thename, passwords andkeyword. Pressthearrow buttons onthe remote controltohighlight characters andpress Enter toselect them. 42
7. Select theWired LANmenu andpress Enter. 8. Ifnecessary, selectIPSettings andpress Enter. 9. Select yourIPSettings asnecessary: • Ifyour network assignsaddresses automatically, turnonthe DHCP setting. • Ifyou must setaddresses manually,turnoffDHCP andenter theprojectors IPAddress ,Subnet Mask ,and Gateway Addressasneeded. Note: Tohighlight thenumbers youwant fromthedisplayed keyboard, pressthearrow buttons on the remote control. Toselect ahighlighted number,pressEnter. 10. Toprevent displayofthe IPaddress onthe standby screen,turnoffIPAddress Display. 11. When youfinish selecting settings,selectComplete andfollow theon-screen instructions tosave your settings andexitthemenus. Installing theWireless LANModule To use theprojector overawireless network, installtheoptional Epson802.11b/g/n wirelessLAN module (PowerLite 1970W/1975W/1980WU). Donot install anyother typeofwireless LANmodule. Caution: Neverremove themodule whileitsindicator lightisgreen orflashing, orwhile youare projecting wirelessly. Youmay damage themodule orlose data. 1. Turn offthe projector andunplug thepower cord. 2. Slide theairfilter cover latchandopen theairfilter cover. 3. Remove thescrew securing thewireless LANmodule stopper, thenremove thestopper. 45

Using Quick Wireless Connection (WindowsOnly) You canusetheQuick Wireless Connection USBKeytoquickly connect theprojector toaWindows computer wirelessly. Thenyoucanproject yourpresentation andremove thekey when youaredone. Note: TheQuick Wireless Connection USBKeyisnot included withyour projector. 1. Turn onthe projector. 2. Connect theUSB keytothe projectors USB-Aport. You seeaprojected messagethatthenetwork information updateiscomplete. 3. Remove theUSB key. 4. Connect theUSB keytoaUSB portonyour computer orlaptop. Note: InWindows Vista,ifyou seetheAutoPlay window,selectRunLaunchU3.exe ,then select Allow onthe next screen. 5. Follow theon-screen instructions toinstall theQuick Wireless Connection driver. Note: Ifyou seeaWindows Firewallmessage, clickYestodisable thefirewall. After afew minutes, yourcomputer imageisdisplayed bythe projector. Ifitdoes notappear, press the LAN button onyour projector remotecontrolorrestart yourcomputer. 6. Run your presentation asnecessary. 7. When youfinish projecting wirelessly, selecttheSafely Remove Hardware optioninthe Windows taskbar, thenremove theUSB keyfrom yourcomputer. Note: Youmay need torestart yourcomputer toreactivate yourwireless LANconnection.
