    Copying Files to a USB DeviceYou can copy all the files or selected files from the viewer to 
    a USB device.
    If your USB device has an AC adapter, connect the adapter 
    and plug it in before starting. 
    Backing Up All Files to a USB Device
    This process may take some time, depending on the volume 
    of data in the viewer. 
    1Follow the instructions on page 49 to connect the USB 
    device.
    2On the Home screen, use the 4-way ring or jog dial to 
    highlight 
    USB Device
    , then press 
    OK
    .
    3In the USB Device menu, select 
    Connect to USB 
    Device
    , then press 
    OK
    .4Select 
    Copy all Backup Files
    .
    5Press 
    OK
    , then wait while the files are copied. 
    Copying Selected Files to a USB Device
    You can select individual files or folders to copy.
    1Follow the instructions on page 49 to connect the USB 
    device.
    2Select the file or folder you want to copy.

    Copy/Move

    photos are displayed with white checkboxes.
    6Use the 4-way ring or jog dial to highlight each file you 
    want to copy, then press the  button to select it. The 
    selected items are displayed with red   check marks.
    7When you are finished selecting files, press OK

    USB Device
    , then press 
    right on the 4-way ring to select it. 
    9Do one of the following:

    Select a folder to copy the items into, then press OK
    . Your items are copied.

    To copy the items into a new folder, highlight Create New Folder
     and press

    . Then see 
    “Creating a New Folder and Copying Files” on 
    page 22 to enter a name for the new folder and copy 
    the items.
    10When the copy is complete, you can disconnect the 
    device.
    Setting Folders as PrivateYou can select and hide folders so that other people cannot 
    view the files.Note: 
    Even if folders are set as private folders on the viewer, they may 
    still be viewed on a computer, depending on the computer 
    setting.1Using the 4-way ring, select a folder you want to hide.
    2Press the 
    Menu
     button, select 
    Settings
    , then press

    You see the Password screen:
    4If you have already set a password for your viewer, enter 
    the 4-digit password number using the 4-way ring, then

    If you have not set a password, leave the password at the 
    default setting,

    5Select a folder you want to set as private, then press the 
    Menu
     button.

    7Use the 4-way ring to highlight each folder you want to 
    set as private, and press   to select it. The selected items 
    are displayed with red   check marks.
    8Once you have selected all the folders you want to set as 
    private, press

    Note: 
    To select all files and folders, press Menu and select Select 
    all, then press OK.
    To hide the folders set as private, select Hide Private 
    Folders in step 3. To show private folders, select Show

    Renaming a FolderNote: 
    Folders in Backup Files can’t be renamed.1Using the 4-way ring, select a folder to rename.

    Copying and Moving Files to a Folder1Open a folder to a thumbnail view, as shown below, and 
    highlight the file or folder you want to copy or move.

    Note: 
    To copy or move a single file, select the file you want to 
    copy or move, press Menu, and select Copy/Move. Select 
    Copy this File or Move this File, then continue with step 5.
    4Use the 4-way ring or jog dial to highlight each 
    additional item you want to copy or move, then press   
    to select it. The selected items are displayed with red   
    check marks.
    Tip: 
    To select all files and folders, press Menu and choose 
    Select All. 
    5Press

    .6Use the 4-way ring to select a folder to copy or move the 
    items to.
    7Do one of the following:

    To copy or move the items into the selected folder,

    To copy or move the items into a new subfolder

    Tip: 
    It’s easier to manage your files if you copy or move them 
    into a folder you’ve named, instead of placing them in the 
    root of a main folder (such as My Photos or My Videos).
    Deleting Files and FoldersYou can delete files and folders from the viewer using the 
    menu and buttons as described below. To use the Link2 
    software for deletion, click the 
    ? in the upper right corner of 
    the Link2 screen.
    1Select a file or folder to delete.
    2Press

    Locking Files and FoldersYou can lock selected files or folders so they cannot be 
    deleted or rotated. When a file or folder is locked, the   
    icon is displayed.
    1Select a folder or file to lock.
    2Press the

     button to display the pop-up menu.

    Lock/Unlock 
    and press

    Setting a Folder Icon or Home Screen 
    WallpaperYou can set your favorite file as an icon for the folder or 
    “wallpaper” for the Home screen.
    1Select the file you want to use.
    2Press

    Rating PhotosYou can rate your photos from one to five stars. This lets 
    you filter your photos for display according to their rating.
    When you copy a rated file to your computer, you must use 
    the Epson Link2 software to copy the rating information. 
    You can then move your rated files into certain Adobe 
    applications.
    To rate a single photo, select it in My Photos or Backup 
    Files, then press the   button to rate it. Continue pressing 
    the button to increase the rating up to 
    5, or remove the 
    rating.
    Selecting a Screen SaverYou can select a folder to be used as a screen saver. The 
    photos in the folder will be displayed as a slide show when 
    the viewer is plugged in using the AC adapter and is inactive 
    for 3 minutes. 
    If you want to change the timing for the screen saver, see 
    “Power Save” on page 71. If you want to change the 
    transition effects, see “Slide Show” on page 72.
    1Select a folder, then press

    Monitoring the Color of ImagesYou can display images from Adobe Photoshop
    ® on the 
    viewer to maintain color accuracy when editing your images. 
    Make sure you have installed the USB Monitor Plug-in, 
    following the instructions in your P-6000/P-7000 Basics 
    guide.
    1Connect the AC adapter to the viewer and plug it in. 
    Then turn on the viewer and your computer.

    2Use the included USB cable to connect the viewer to 
    your computer.
    3On the Home screen, use the 4-way ring to highlight 
    USB Device
    , then press 
    OK

    4In the USB Device menu, select 
    USB Display
    . 
    Monitoring begins automatically.
    5When you’re finished, disconnect the USB cable from 
    the viewer and computer.

    Chapter 6PrintingYou can print photos or videos by connecting the viewer to 
    a PictBridge-compatible printer, such as the Epson Stylus
    ® 
    Photo R380, 1440, R1900 and R2400. 
    Check the Epson website to get the latest information on 
    supported printers. See “Where To Get Help” on page 80.
    Depending on your printer model and settings, you can use 
    the following types of paper.
