101 2.9.2 File Server You can add/edit the file server name, shared folders and sharing policies for shared files. Parameters Description Name The file server name that shows in My Network Places on client computer. Workgroup The My Network Places group this file server will join. Description A brief description of this file server. This string will be shown at the detailed information field of My Network Places. Add Click “Add” and fill the information of the Add/Edit shared

Default Sharing Policy You can set a default sharing policy (Read & Write, Read Only or Not to Share) to any USB storage which doesn’t have any shared folder yet. Shared Folder’s Path Click on “Browse” to open the explorer window to select the sharing folder or click “Share all folders in storage” to share the whole disk. Users You can assign some users with read/write privilege for this shared folder. Select the users in System Users and click
103 “Add” to add into Share Users. You can also click “Add All” to add all users or remove the selected users from “Share Users”. Authority Here you can assign the read/write privilege for this shared folder. You can select “Read Only” for read only sharing or select “Read & Write” to give users full access right. Open Dialog When you click the “Browse” button, you can see the following explorer window that shows the USB storage devices. Please select the USB devices from left panel, the right bottom panel will show the directories in this USB storage device. Choose the folder you want to share, and click “Submit” to select this folder for sharing. You can also click “New Folder” to create a new share folder. NOTE: Only the folders in USB storage devices will be shown as icons in Open Dialog due to the share function is restricted to folders, not files.
104 2.9.3 FTP Server You can add/edit users, shared folders and sharing policies for sharing files via FTP service. Parameters Description Add Click “Add” and fill the information of the Add/Edit FTP folder page to add a new shared folder for FTP server. Edit You can select any shared folder in FTP folders list and click “Edit” to modify its setting. Delete All You can click “Delete All” to delete all the shared folders in FTP folders list. Delete Selected You can click “Delete Selected” to delete the selected shared folders in FTP folders list. Reset You can click “Reset” to reset selection in FTP folders list. Max Users Set the maximum concurrent users for the FTP server.

Internet Accessible Check on this option to share FTP server on Internet or uncheck this option to use FTP server in Intranet only. 107 2.9.4 Storage Tool You can use the storage tools here to format, add or remove partitions. Note: You should connect disks which will be used with this broadband router only to USB1 port (i.e. disks will not connect to other computer), and you can use the storage tools menu to partition and format the USB storage disk. If have disks which will be used on other computers, please connect it to USB2 port, and please make the partition and format it by computer. Parameters Description Auto Partition & Format By clicking this button, the system will partition and format the USB storage disk in USB1 port automatically. To o l You can format your USB disk by this tool. This NAS router supports FAT16, FAT32 and EXT2 format. Add a Partition By clicking this button, you can launch the “Add a Partition page” to add a new partition on the USB disk. Remove Selected Partitions You can click “Remove Selected Partitions” button to remove the selected partitions on USB storage disk. Remove All Partitions You can click “Remove All Partitions” to remove all the partitions on USB storage disk. Reset You can click “Reset” to reset selection in partition list. You can now configure other advance sections or start using the router.
108 NOTE: The partition size of FAT16 file system should be less than 2GB; for FAT32 or EXT2 file system, the partition should be less than 160GB. Auto Partition & Formatting This function will build partition and formats the USB storage disk in USB1 port according to the following rules. (i) It partitions the USB storage disk in the size of 160GB, and formats the partition as FAT32 file system. (ii) If the remaining space of disk is less than 160GB, all spaces on the disk be partitioned as a single partition. (iii) This function only works on the USB storage disk connected to USB1 port. NOTE: During partitioning, user can click the Stop button to stop auto partition procedure and back to Storage tools page to add or remove partition manually. Add Partition You can create a new partition on the USB disk.
109 2.9.5 Storage Status This Page shows the status of attached USB storage devices. Parameters Description Partition The partition name of the USB storage device. Size Total space of this partition. Used Total used space of this partition. Here shows the size in byte and the percentage of the total space. Free This shows the remaining space of the specified partition. Status The partition type of the partition. It can be FAT 1 6 , FAT 32 , NTFS and Linux. Unplug You can click this button to unplug the USB storage disk. You can now configure other advanced functions or start using the router.
