USING YOUR DYSON M ACHINE
PLE ASE RE AD THE “IMPORTANT SAFET Y INSTRUCTIONS” IN THIS DYSON 
OPER ATING M ANUAL BEFORE PROCEEDING.
OPER ATION
• Do not use outdoors or on wet sur faces or to vacuum water or other liquids – 
electric shock coul d o c c u r.
•  Ensure the machine remains upright in use. Dir t and debris may be released if it 
is turned upsid e down.
•  Do not operate while checking for blockages as doing so could result in 
persona l injur y.
•  For domestic indoor and car use only. Do not use it while the car is in motion or 
while driving.
•  To operate the M A X mode, locate the switch on the top of the appliance. Slide 
the switch to the Max mod e position.
•  To switch of f M A X mode, slide the red switch back to the Power ful Suction 
mode position.
•  This machine has carbon fiber brushes. Take care if coming into contact with 
them, as they may cause minor skin irritation. Wash your hands af ter handling 
the brushes.
DIAGNOSTICS – LIGHTS DURING CHARGING
DIAGNOSTICS – DURING USE
DOCKING STATION INSTALLATION
•  Use appropriate mounting hardware for your wall t ype and ensure that the 
docking station is mounted securely. Ensure no pipe work (gas, water, air) or 
electrical cables, wires or duct work are located directly behind the mounting 
area. The docking station must be mounted in accordance with regulations 
and applicable codes/standards (state and local laws may apply). Dyson 
recommends the use of protective clothing, eyeware and materials when 
installing the dockin g station.
  CARPETS OR HARD FLOORS
• 
Before vacuuming your flooring, rugs and carpets, check the manufacturer's 
recommended cleanin g instructions.
•  The brush bar on the machine can damage cer tain carpet t ypes and floors. 
Some carpets will fuzz if a rotating brush bar is used when vacuuming. If this 
happens, we recommend vacuuming without the motorized floor tool and 
consulting with your floorin g manufacturer.
•  Before vacuuming highly polished floors, such as wood or linoleum, first check 
that the underside of the floor tool and its brushes are free from foreign objects 
that could caus e marking.
LOOKING AFTER YOUR DYSON M ACHINE
• Do not carr y out any maintenance or repair work other than that shown and 
described in this Dyson Operating Manual, or advised by the Dyso n Helpline.
•  Only use par ts recommended by Dyson. If you do not this may invalidate 
your warranty.
•  Store the machine indoors. Do not use or store it below 37.4° F (3°C). Ensure the 
machine is at room temperature befor e operating.
•  Clean the machine only with a dr y cloth. Do not use any lubricants, cleaning 
agents, polishes or air fresheners on any par t of th e machine.
VACUUMING
• Do not use without the clear bin and filters i n place.
•  Fine dir t such as plaster dust or flour should only be vacuumed in ver y 
small amounts.
•  Do not use the machine to pick up sharp hard objects, small toys, pins, paper 
clips, etc. They may damage th e machine.
•  When vacuuming, cer tain carpets may generate small static charges in the 
clear bin or wand. These are harmless and are not associated with the central 
electricit y supply. To minimize any ef fect from this, do not put your hand or 
inser t any object into the clear bin unless you have first emptied it. Clean the 
clear bin with a damp cloth only. (See “Cleaning the clear bin”.)
•  Use ex tra care when cleaning o n stairs.
•  Do not rest the machine on chairs, tables, etc.
•  Do not press down on the nozzle with excessive force when using the machine as 
this may caus e damage.
•  Do not leave the cleaner head in one place on delicat e floors.
•  On waxed floors the movement of the cleaner head may create an uneven 
luster. If this happens, wipe with a damp cloth, polish the area with wax, and 
wait for it t o dr y.
EMPT YING THE CLEAR BIN
• Empt y as soon as the dir t reaches the level of the M A X mark – do no t overfill.
•  Ensure the machine is disconnected from the charger before empt ying the clear 
bin. Be careful not to pull the “ON” trigger.
•  To make empt ying the clear bin easier, it is advisable to remove the wand and 
floor tool.
•  To minimize dust/allergen contact when empt ying, encase the clear bin tightly in 
a plastic bag and empt y. 
•  To release the dir t, hold the appliance by the handle, pull the red lever back and 
lif t upwards to release the cyclone. Continue until the bin base automatically 
opens and releases th e dir t.
•  Remove the clear bin carefully from th e bag.
•  Seal the bag tightly, dispose a s normal.
•  To close, push the cyclone downwards until it is in the normal position and 
manually close the base of the bin – the base will click when it is securely 
in place.
CLEANING THE CLEAR BIN
•  Ensure the machine is disconnected from the charger before removing the clear 
bin. Be careful not to pull the “ON” trigger.
•  Remove the wand and floo r tool.
•  To remove the cyclone, hold the appliance by the handle, pull the red lever 
towards you and lif t upwards until the bin opens, then push in the red but ton 
located behind the cyclone and lif t the cyclon e out.
•  To detach the clear bin from the appliance, pull back on the red catch located 
at the base, slide the clear bin down and carefully remove for wards from the 
main body.
•  Clean the clear bin with a damp clot h only.
•  Do not use detergents, polishes or air fresheners to clean the clea r bin.
•  Do not put the clear bin in a dishwasher.
•  Ensure the clear bin is completely dr y befor e replacing.
•  To replace the clear bin, align the tabs on the clear bin with the grooves on the 
main body and slide upwards into place until the catc h clicks.
•  Slide the cyclone into the grooves of the main body and push downwards until 
it is in its normal position and manually close the base of the bin – the base will 
click when it is securely i n place.
WASHABLE PARTS
Your appliance has washable par ts, which require regular cleaning. Follow the 
instructions b elow.
 
Charging from low.
Charging, nearly full.

WASHING THE BRUSH BARS
• Your machine has t wo washable brush bars, check and wash these regularly 
according to the following instructions to maintai n performance.
•  Ensure the machine is disconnected from the charger before removing the brush 
bar. Be careful not to pull the 'ON ' trigger.
TO REMOVE, WASH AND REPL ACE BRUS H BARS:
•  Please refer to the ' Washing the brush bars' illustrations alongside the 
instructions b elow.
•  Turn the cleaner head upside down so the underside of the cleaner head is 
facing you. Use a coin to turn the fastener one quar ter counter-clock wise to the 
unlocke d position.
•  Rotate the end cap to the open position. Gently slide the large brush bar away 
from the cleane r head.
•  Remove the end cap from the large brus h b a r.
•  Lif t out the small brush bar from the octagonal end and pull away from the 
cleaner head.
•  Hold the brush bars under running water and gently rub to remove any lint 
or dir t.
•  Stand both brush bars upright. Ensure the large brush bar is stood upright as 
shown. Leave to dr y completely for a minimum of 2 4 hours.
•  Before replacing, check that the brush bars are completely dr y. Refit the small 
brush bar before the large one. Inser t the round end of the small brush bar into 
place. Push down the octagonal end until it clicks int o place.
•  Reat tach the end cap to the brus h b a r.
•  Slide the large brush bar back onto the cleaner head, around the motor. The 
end cap should be in the open position as shown. Once in place, rotate the end 
cap back into the close d position.
•  Close the fastener by turning a quar ter turn clock wise. Ensure that the fastener is 
fully turned and the base plate and the brush bars ar e secure.
WASHING THE FILTERS
• Your machine has t wo washable filters; wash the filters at least once a month 
according to the following instructions to maintain per formance. More frequent 
washing may be required where the user: vacuums fine dust, operates mainly in 
“Power ful suction” mode, or uses the machin e intensively.
WASHING FILTER A
• Ensure the machine is disconnected from the charger before removing the filter. 
Be careful not to pull the “ON” trigger.
•  Check and wash the filter regularly according to instructions to 
maintai n performance.
•  The filter may require more frequent washing if vacuuming fine dust or if used 
mainly in “POWERFUL SUCTION” mode.
•  To remove the filter, lif t it out of the top of th e machine.
•  Wash the filter with cold wate r only.
•  Run water over the outside of the filter until the water run s c l e a r.
•  Squeeze and t wist with both hands to make sure the excess water i s removed.
•  Lay the filter on its side to dr y. Leave to dr y completely for a minimum of 
24 hours.
•  Do not put the filter in a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dr yer, oven, 
microwave or near an ope n flame.
•  To refit, place the dr y filter back into the top of the machine. Make sure it is 
seated properly. 
WASHING FILTER B
• To remove the filter, t wist counter-clock wise to the open position and pull away 
from th e machine.
•  Wash the inside of the filter under cold running water, rotating the filter to 
ensure all pleats ar e covered.
•  Gently tap the filter against the side of the sink several times to remove 
any debris.
•  Repeat this process 4-5 times until the filter i s clean.
•  Place the filter upright, with the M A X but ton facing upwards, and leave to dr y 
completely for a minimum of 2 4 hours.
•  To refit, return the filter to the open position and t wist clock wise until it clicks 
into place.
BLOCK AGES – AUTOMATIC CUT-OUT
•  This machine is fit ted with an automatic cut-out.
•  If any par t becomes blocked the machine may automatically cu t out.
•  This will happen af ter the motor pulses a number of times (i.e switches on and 
of f in quick succession).
•  Leave to cool down before looking fo r blockages.
•  Ensure the machine is disconnected from the charger before looking for 
blockages. Failure to do so could result in persona l injur y.
•  Clear any blockage befor e restar ting.
•  Refit all par ts securely befor e using.
•  Clearing blockages is not covered by you r warranty.
  LOOKING FOR BLOCK AGES
The motor will pulse when there is a blockage. Please follow the instructions 
below to locate th
e blockage:
•  Ensure the machine is disconnected from the charger before looking for 
blockages. Be careful not to pull the “ON” trigger.
•  Do not operate while checking for blockages as doing so could result in 
persona l injur y.
•  Beware of sharp objects when checking fo r blockages.
•  To check for blockages in the main body of the appliance, remove the clear 
bin and cyclone as per the instructions in the cleaning the clear bin section and 
remove the blockage. Please consult the ' Stubborn blockages' section of the 
illustrations for fur the r guidance.
•  If you cannot clear an obstruction you may need to remove the brush bars, 
please follow the instruction s below:
 
– To remove the soft roller cleanerhead brush bars, please refer to the 'Washing 
the soft roller cleanerhead brush bars' section. Remove the obstruction \
and 
replace the brush bars as shown in the ‘Washing the soft roller cleanerhead 
brush bars’ section. Ensure that the fastener is fully turned and the\
 base plate 
and brush bars are secure before operating the appliance.
 
– To remove the brush bars from the direct drive cleanerhead, use a coin to\
 
unlock the fastener and slide the brush bars out of the cleanerhead. Rem\
ove 
the obstruction. Replace the brush bar and secure it by tightening the f\
astener. 
Ensure it is fixed firmly before operating the appliance.
•  This machine has carbon fiber brushes. Take care if coming into contact with 
them, as they may cause minor skin irritation. Wash your hands af ter handling 
the brushes.
•  Refit all par ts securely befor e using.
•  Clearing blockages is not covered by you r warranty.
CHARGING AND STORING
• This machine will switch “OFF” if the bat ter y temperature is below 37.4° F 
(3°C). This is designed to protect the motor and bat ter y. Do not charge the 
machine and then move it to an area with a temperature below 37.4° F (3°C) for 
storage purposes.
•  To help prolong bat ter y life, avoid recharging immediately af ter a full discharge. 
Allow to cool for a fe w minutes.
•  Avoid using the machine with the bat ter y flush to a sur face. This will help it run 
cooler and prolong bat ter y run time an d life.
BATTERY SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• If the bat ter y needs replacing please contact the Dyso n Helpline.
•  Use only Dyson chargers for charging this Dyso n machine.
•  The bat ter y is a sealed unit and under normal circumstances poses no safet y 
concerns. In the unlikely event that liquid leaks from the bat ter y do not touch the 
liquid and obser ve the followin g precautions:
 
– Skin contact – can cause irritation. Wash with soap and water.
 
– Inhalation – can cause respiratory irritation. Expose to fresh air an\
d seek medi-
cal advice.
 
– Eye contact – can cause irritation. Immediately flush eyes thoroughly\
 with water 
for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.
 
– Disposal – wear gloves to handle the battery and dispose of immediate\
ly, fol-
lowing local ordinances or regulations.
CAUTION
The bat ter y used in this device may present a risk of fire or chemical burn if 
mistreated. Do not disassemble, shor t contacts, heat above 140 ° F (60 °C), or 
incinerate. Keep away from children. Do not disassemble and do not dispose of 
in fire.
DISPOSAL INFORMATION
•  Dispose of or recycle the bat ter y in accordance with local ordinances 
or regulations.
•  Keep the used bat teries away from children as these can still harm children 
if swallowed.
•  Dyson products are made from high grade recyclable materials. Recycle 
where possible.
•  The bat ter y should be removed from the product befor e disposal.

Your Dyson machine is warranted against original defects in materials and 
workmanship for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase, when used for 
normal domestic purposes in accordance with the Dyson Operating Manual. 
Please retain your proof of purchase. If you do not have your proof of purchase, 
your warrant y will star t 90 days af ter the date of manufacture, according to 
Dyson’s records. This warrant y provides, at no ex tra cost to you, all labor and 
par ts necessar y to ensure your machine is in proper operating condition during 
the warrant y period. The replacement of any par t of your machine under 
warrant y will not ex tend the period of warrant y. Any par ts which are returned

WHAT IS NOT COVERED
Dyson shall not be liable for costs, damages or repairs incurred as a result of,

•  Additionally, this limited warrant y does not apply to any machine that has had

WARR ANT Y LIMITATIONS AND EXCLUSIONS
• Any implied warranties relating to your machine including but not limited to 
warranty of merchantability or warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, are 
limited to the duration of this warrant y. This limitation is not allowed by some 
States and so this limitation may not apply t o you.
•  Your remedy for breach of this warrant y is limited to the warrant y ser vice 
described below. Dyson will not be liable for any consequential damages or

•  This limited warrant y gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other

FUNCIONAMIENTO

CÓMO VACIAR EL CUBO TR ANSPARENTE

L AVADO DE LOS CEPILLOS
• El aparato tiene dos cepillos lavables. Controle y lave estos cepillos en forma 
periódica según las instrucciones que se detallan a continuación para mantener 
el rendimiento.
•  Asegúrese de que el aparato esté desconectado del cargador antes de quitar el 
cepillo. Tenga cuidado de no presionar el interruptor de encendido (ON).
PAR A QUITAR, L AVAR Y VOLVER A COLOCAR LO S CEPILLOS:
•  Consulte las ilustraciones de la sección Limpieza de los cepillos junto con las 
instrucciones que se detallan a continuación.
•  Gire el cabezal de los cepillos hacia abajo de modo que la par te inferior 
de este cabezal quede en dirección hacia usted. Con una moneda, gire el

grande quede colocado en posición ver tical como se muestra. Deje secar 
completamente durante 24 horas com o mínimo.
•  Antes de volver a colocar todo, controle que los cepillos estén totalmente secos. 
Vuelva a colocar primero el cepillo pequeño y después el grande. Coloque 
el ex tremo redondeado del cepillo pequeño en su lugar. Empuje el ex tremo 
octogonal hasta que oiga el clic que indica que está colocado en s u l u g a r.
•  Vuelva a colocar la tapa del ex tremo en e l cepillo.
•  Deslice el cepillo largo para volver a colocarlo en el cabezal de los cepillos, 
alrededor del motor. La tapa del ex tremo debe estar en la posición abier ta, 
como se muestra. Una vez que esté en su lugar, gire la tapa del ex tremo para 
volver a colocarla en la posició n cerrada.
•  Gire el sujetador un cuar to de vuelta en el sentido de las agujas del reloj para 
cerrarlo. Asegúrese de que el sujetador haga el giro completo y que los cepillos
