122Internet Synchronizing Your Google Data Through a web connection, your device can synchronize your Google data including Gmail, calendar, and contacts with your computer or any other device that you use to access your Google account. To s e l e c t t h e a p p l i cations to synchronize 1Touch Home button → Menu button → Settings→ Accounts & sync. 2Under the General sync settings bar, touch to select Background data to make all the sync options available. 3Under the General sync settings bar, touch to select Auto-sync to let the device automatically synchronize the selected data. 4Under the Manage accounts bar, touch your account to select the data that you want the device to synchronize automatically, such as Sync Contacts, Sync Gmail, Sync Picasa Web Albums, and Sync Calendar. NOTE: If you wish to synchronize individual applications manually, touch to clear the Auto-sync check box, then touch a data option to start synchronization of the touched data. BrightnessManually adjust screen brightness. 1Drag the brightness slider horizontally or touch the desired portion of it to increase or decrease the yellow bar. Screen timeout• Set how long the screen remains on after the last operation. Scroll the options and touch a preferred timeout period; to disable this feature select Never timeout. • The screen automatically turns off and locks itself after an inactivity timeout selected here has passed. • To turn on and unlock the screen, press the Power button and then flick the icon up to unlock the screen if it is automatically locked. NOTE: If you select Never timeout, the screen remains on indefinitely and quickly consumes battery power. NOTE: If Settings→ Location & security→ Setup up screen lock → Pattern is enabled, you need to draw the unlock pattern to unlock the screen. 128Protecting Your Dell™ Streak Protecting Your Dell™ Streak Protect Your Device Data With a Screen Unlock Pattern You can protect your device data against unauthorized access by locking the touch screen with a screen unlock pattern. Once the unlock pattern is enabled and the screen is locked, you need to draw the correct unlock pattern to unlock the screen. After you fail to draw the correct unlock pattern on the screen for five consecutive times, you will be asked to wait for 30 seconds before you can try again. If you no longer remember your screen unlock pattern, follow these steps to unlock your screen: 1To u c h Forgot pattern. 2When prompted, sign on to the Google website using your Google account name and password. 3Draw a new screen unlock pattern as described in To create a screen unlock pattern. 4If you fail to obtain a new unlock pattern following the above steps, visit support.dell.com. Then touch Next when you are ready to draw your own pattern. 4Drag your finger to draw the unlock pattern by connecting at least four dots in a vertical, horizontal and/or diagonal direction. Take your finger off the screen when a pattern is drawn. NOTE: You must flick your finger on the screen to create the pattern and not touch individual dots. 5The device records the pattern if it is correctly drawn. Touch Continue. 6Draw the pattern again as prompted, and then touch Confirm. NOTE: To change your unlock screen pattern, you need to draw the old pattern before proceeding with steps 4 to 6 to draw a new one.
