    11Lift and remove the display assembly away from the computer base.
    Replacing the Display Assembly
    1Follow the instructions in Before You Begin on page 9.
    2Place the display assembly in position and replace the four screws that 
    secure the display assembly to the computer base.

    3Route the display cable, camera cable, and Mini-Card antenna cables 
    through the routing guides.
    4Connect the display cable and camera cable to the connectors on the 
    system board.
    5Connect the Mini-Card antenna cables to the Mini-Card(s) (see 
    Replacing the Mini-Card(s) on page 47).
    6Replace the palm-rest assembly (see Replacing the Palm-Rest Assembly 
    on page 35).
    7Replace the keyboard (see Replacing the Keyboard on page 29).
    8Replace the two screws that secure the display assembly to the computer 
    base.
    9Follow the instructions from step 4 to step 5 in Replacing the Optical 
    Drive on page 19.
    10Replace the battery (see Replacing the Battery on page 16).
     CAUTION: Before turning on the computer, replace all screws and ensure that no 
    stray screws remain inside the computer. Failure to do so may result in damage to 
    the computer.
    Display Bezel
    Removing the Display Bezel
    1Follow the instructions in Before You Begin on page 9.
    2Remove the top cover (see Removing the Top Cover on page 13).
    3Remove the display assembly (see Removing the Display Assembly on 
    page 89).
     CAUTION: The display bezel is extremely fragile. Be careful when removing it to 
    prevent damaging the display bezel.
    4Using your fingertips, carefully pry up the inside edge of the display bezel.
    5Remove the display bezel.

    Replacing the Display Bezel
    1Follow the instructions in Before You Begin on page 9. 
    2Realign the display bezel over the display panel and gently snap into place.
    3Replace the display assembly (see Replacing the Display Assembly on 
    page 91).
    4Replace the top cover (see Replacing the Top Cover on page 14).
     CAUTION: Before turning on the computer, replace all screws and ensure that no 
    stray screws remain inside the computer. Failure to do so may result in damage to

    Removing the Display Panel
    1Follow the instructions in Before You Begin on page 9.
    2Remove the display assembly (see Removing the Display Assembly on 
    page 89).
    3Remove the display bezel (see Removing the Display Bezel on page 92).
    4Remove the eight screws that secure the display panel to the display back 
    cover.
    5Lift the display panel off the display back cover.
    Replacing the Display Panel

    2Align the screw holes on the display panel with the screw holes on the 
    display back cover and replace the eight screws.
    3Route the display cable and Mini-Card antenna cables through the routing 
    guides on the display back cover.
    4Replace the display bezel (see Replacing the Display Bezel on page 93).
    5Replace the display assembly (see Replacing the Display Assembly on 
    page 91).
     CAUTION: Before turning on the computer, replace all screws and ensure that no 
    stray screws remain inside the computer. Failure to do so may result in damage to 
    the computer.
    Display Cable
    Removing the Display Cable
    1Follow the instructions in Before You Begin on page 9.
    2Remove the display assembly (see Removing the Display Assembly on 
    page 89).
    3Remove the display bezel (see Removing the Display Bezel on page 92).
    4Remove the display panel (see Removing the Display Panel on page 94).
    5Turn the display panel over and place it on a clean surface.
    6Lift the tape that secures the display cable to the display-board connector 
    and disconnect the display cable.

    2Connect the display cable to the display-board connector and secure it 
    with the tape.
    3Turn the display panel over and place it on the display back cover.
    4Replace the display panel (see Replacing the Display Panel on page 94).
    5Replace the display bezel (see Replacing the Display Bezel on page 93).
    6Replace the display assembly (see Replacing the Display Assembly on 
    page 91).
     CAUTION: Before turning on the computer, replace all screws and ensure that no

    Removing the Display-Panel Brackets

    2Remove the display assembly (see Removing the Display Assembly on 
    page 89).
    3Remove the display bezel (see Removing the Display Bezel on page 92).
    4Remove the display panel (see Removing the Display Panel on page 94).
    5Remove the six screws (three on each side) that secure the display-panel 
    brackets to the display panel.
    6Remove the display-panel brackets off the display panel.
    Replacing the Display-Panel Brackets

    2Align the screw holes on the display-panel bracket with the screw holes on 
    the display panel and replace the six screws (three on each side).
    3Replace the display panel (see Replacing the Display Panel on page 94).

    5Replace the display assembly (see Replacing the Display Assembly on 
    page 91).

    Hinge Caps
    Removing the Hinge Caps
    1Follow the instructions in Before You Begin on page 9.
    2Remove the display assembly (see Removing the Display Assembly on 
    page 89).
    3Remove the display bezel (see Removing the Display Bezel on page 92).
    4Remove the display panel (see Removing the Display Panel on page 94).
    5Remove the display-panel brackets (see Removing the Display-Panel 
    Brackets on page 97).
    6Press both sides of each hinge cap and lift the hinge caps out of the display 
    hinges.

    Replacing the Hinge Caps

    2Place the hinge caps on the display hinges and snap them into place.
    3Replace the display panel (see Replacing the Display Panel on page 94).
