CAUTION: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as a connector on the back of the computer). The palm rest along with the cable that attaches the touch pad to the system board connector are very fragile. 1 2 1palm rest2tabs (5) Ease the palm rest up until you see the cable that attaches the touch pad to 5. the system board connector. Turn the palm rest over and pull the tab on the touch pad connector to 6. disconnect the cable from the touch pad connector. Align the tabs on the palm rest with the slots on the computer.2. Slide the palm rest into position.3. Turn the computer over and replace the three screws that secure the palm 4. rest to the computer base. Replace the battery pack (see “Replacing the Battery Pack” on page 5. 11). CAUTION: Before turning on the computer, replace all screws and ensure that no stray screws remain inside the computer. Failure to do so may result in damage to the computer.
