Removing and Replacing Hard Drive(s)

To replace a hard drive:
Follow the instructions in “Before You Begin” on page 1. 36.
See the documentation that shipped with your new hard drive to verify that 2. it is configured for your computer.
Snap the new-hard drive bracket on to the new hard drive (if applicable).3. 
Slide the new hard drive into the hard drive cage until the release tabs snap 4.

When troubleshooting your computer, remember the following safety guidelines:
Before touching any of the computer’s internal components, touch an • unpainted portion of the chassis. Doing so will safely discharge any static electricity, which could damage your computer. 
Turn off your computer and any connected peripherals. • 
Disconnect any peripherals from your computer. •

If  the  PSA  completes  successfully,  the  following  message    appears  on  your screen.
“Do  you  want  to  run  the  remaining  memory  tests?  This  will take  about  30 minutes  or  more.  Do  you  want  to  continue? (Recommended).”
Press  to continue if you are experiencing memory issue, otherwise press  to finish PSA testing. 
When you press , the following message appears on the screen.
“Booting Dell Diagnostic Utility Partition. Press any key to continue.”...

NOTE: The next steps change the boot sequence for one time only. On the next  start-up,  the  computer  boots  according  to  the  devices  specified  in the system setup program.
When the boot device list appears, highlight 3. CD/DVD/CD-RW and press .
