Using the Front Panel Buttons Use the buttons on the front of the monitor to adjust the image settings. Using the OSD Down ( - ) and Up (+) Touch - or + to activate the on - screen display (OSD). Use these buttons to decrease/increase the brightness ranges. Power Button and Indicator Use the power button to turn the monitor on and off. The blue light indicates the monitor is on and fully functional. An amber light indicates power save mode. NOTE: If you make an adjustment, the monitor automatically saves any adjustments you have made. 1. Touch - or + to activate the on - screen display (OSD). 2. Touch - and + button to select the desired parameter. Icon Brightness bar Description Brightness Brightness adjusts the luminance of the monitor. Press the + button to increase luminance and press the - button to decrease luminance (min 0 ~ max 20). NOTE: OSD generate from PC application F/W through the upstream port of USB to make sure the USB cable connect well.
Using the Dell Soundbar (Optional) The Dell Soundbar is a four - speaker, two - channel speaker that can be attached to your monitor. Located on the Soundbar are a: Rotary volume and on/off control to adjust the overall system level, a green LED for power indication, and two audio headset jacks. Headphone connectors NOTICE: Do not use the soundbar power connector with any other device. 1. Attach the Soundbar by aligning the two slots on the Soundbar with the two tabs on the bottom of the monitor. 2. Slide the Soundbar to the left until it snaps in to place. Plug in the power cord from the Soundbar in to the connector on the back of the monitor. 4. Insert the green stereo plug from the Soundbar in to your computers audio output connector.

Product Specific Problems CAUTION: Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety instructions . COMMON SYMPTOMS WHAT YOU EXPERIENCE POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS No Video/ Power LED off No picture or monitor is dead l Check connection integrity at both ends of the video cable. l Ensure the monitor and computer are plugged in to a working electrical outlet. Connecting Your Monitor l Ensure power button is depressed fully. No Video/ Power LED on No picture or no brightness l Increase brightness controls. l Perform monitor self - test feature check. l Check for bent or broken pins. l Re - boot your computer and monitor. Poor Focus Picture is fuzzy, blurry, or ghosting l Eliminate video extension cables. l Perform monitor reset. l Lower video resolution or increase font size. Shaky/Jittery Video Wavy picture or fine movement l Perform monitor reset. l Check environmental factors. l Relocate and test in other room. Missing Pixels LCD screen has spots l Cycle power on - off. l These are pixels that are permanently off and is a natural defect that occurs in LCD technology. Brightness Problems Picture too dim or too bright l Perform monitor reset. l Adjust brightness controls. Horizontal/Vertical Lines Screen has one or more lines l Perform monitor reset. Sync Problems Screen is scrambled or appears torn l Perform monitor reset. l Start in the safe mode. LCD Scratched Screen has scratches or smudges l Turn monitor off and clean the screen. l For cleaning instruction, see Caring for Your Monitor . Safety Related Issues Visible signs of smoke or sparks l Do not perform any troubleshooting steps. l Monitor needs to be replaced. Intermittent Problems Monitor malfunctions on & off l Ensure monitor is in proper video mode. l Ensure video cable connection to computer and to the panel is secure. l Perform monitor reset. Image Retention (from a static imageyf Faint Shadow from the static image displayed appears on the screen l Use the Power Management feature to turn off the monitor at all times when not in use. Alternatively, use a dynamically changing screensaver left on the monitor for a long period of time. Then plug the power cord back and turn the power on. High Speed USB 2.0 interface is slow. High Speed USB 2.0 peripherals working slowly or not at all. l Check that your computer is USB 2.0 compatible. l Verify USB 2.0 source on your computer. l Reconnect the upstream cable to your computer. l Reconnect the USB peripherals to downstream connector. (built - in DC power supply. i.e. 3007WFP - HC ) l Turn the Power/Volume knob on the Soundbar clockwise to the middle position; check if the power indicator (green LED) on the front of the Soundbar is illuminated. l Confirm that the power cable from the Soundbar is plugged into the monitor. l Confirm that the monitor has power. No Sound Soundbar has power - power indicator is on. l Plug the audio line - in cable into the computers audio out jack. l Set all Windows volume controls to their maximum. l Play some audio content on the computer (i.e. audio CD, or MP3). l Turn the Power/Volume knob on the Soundbar clockwise to a higher volume setting. l Clean and reseat the audio line - in plug. l Test the Soundbar using another audio source (i.e. portable CD player). Distorted Sound Computers sound card is used as the audio source. l Clear any obstructions between the Soundbar and the user. l Confirm that the audio line - in plug is completely inserted into the jack of the sound card. l Set all Windows volume controls to their midpoints. l Decrease the volume of the audio application. l Turn the Power/Volume knob on the Soundbar counter - clockwise to a lower volume setting. l Clean and reseat the audio line - in plug. l Troubleshoot the computers sound card. l Test the Soundbar using another audio source (i.e. portable CD player). Distorted Sound Other audio source is used. l Clear any obstructions between the Soundbar and the user. l Confirm that the audio line - in plug is completely inserted into the jack of the audio source. l Decrease the volume of the audio source. l Turn the Power/Volume knob on the Soundbar counter - clockwise to a lower volume setting. l Clean and reseat the audio line - in plug. Unbalanced Sound Output Sound from only one side of Soundbar l Clear any obstructions between the Soundbar and the user. l Confirm that the audio line - in plug is completely inserted into the jack of the sound card or audio source. l Set all Windows audio balance controls (L - R) to their midpoints. l Clean and reseat the audio line - in plug. l Troubleshoot the computers sound card. l Test the Soundbar using another audio source (i.e. portable CD player). Low Volume Volume is too low. l Clear any obstructions between the Soundbar and the user. l Turn the Power/Volume knob on the Soundbar clockwise to the maximum volume setting. l Set all Windows volume controls to their maximum. l Increase the volume of the audio application. l Test the Soundbar using another audio source (i.e. portable CD player).
Back to Contents Page Using Your Adjustable Monitor Stand - HC Flat Panel Monitor Users Guide Organizing Your Cables Using the Tilt, Swivel, and Height Adjustment Organizing Your Cables After attaching all necessary cables to your monitor and computer, (See Connecting Your Monitor for cable attachment,) use the cable holder to neatly organize all cables as shown above. Using the Tilt, Swivel, and Height Adjustment You can adjust your monitor to best fit your viewing needs using the Tilt, Swivel, and Height Adjustment options. You can adjust the stand vertically, up to 3.54 inches (90mm) using the stand lock/release button. Press the stand lock/release button on the back of the monitor and then lift or lower the stand to the desired position.
