NOTE:Allowoiltosettledownintoengine foraccuratedipstickreading.Toread properlevel,tightenengineoilcap,then removeittoreadthedipstick. 3.Reinstallengineoilcapandtighten. •Checkoillevelbeforeeachuse.Add oilifneeded.Filltofulllineondipstick. •Changetheoilafterevery25hoursof operationoreachseason.Youmay needtochangetheoilmoreoftenunder dusty,dirtyconditions. TOSTOPENGINE •Tostopengine,releaseoperator presencecontrolbar. NOTE:Incoolerweatheritmaybe necessarytorepeatprimingsteps.In warmerweatheroverprimingmaycause floodingandenginewillnotstart.Ifyou dofloodengine,waitafewminutes beforeattemptingtostartanddonot repeatprimingsteps. MOWINGTIPS •Undercertainconditions,suchasvery tallgrass,itmaybenecessarytoraise theheightofcuttoreducepushing effortandtokeepfromoverloadingthe engineandleavingclumpsofgrass clippings.Itmayalsobenecessaryto reducegroundspeedand/orrunthe lawnmowerovertheareaasecond time. •Forextremelyheavycutting,reducethe widthofcutbyoverlappingpreviously cutpathandmowslowly. •Forbettergrassbaggingandmost cuttingconditions,theenginespeed shouldbesetinthefastposition. •Whenusingareardischargelawn mowerinmoist,heavygrass,clumpsof cutgrassmaynotenterthegrass catcher.Reducegroundspeed (pushingspeed)and/orrunthelawn mowerovertheareaasecondtime. •Ifatrailofclippingsisleftontheright sideofareardischargemower,mowin aclockwisedirectionwithasmall overlaptocollecttheclippingsonthe nextpass. •Poresinclothgrasscatcherscan becomefilledwithdirtanddustwith useandcatcherswillcollectlessgrass. Topreventthis,regularlyhosecatcher offwithwaterandletdrybeforeusing. •Keeptopofenginearoundstarterclear andcleanofgrassclippingsandchaff. Thiswillhelpengineairflowand extendenginelife. MULCHINGMOWINGTIPS IMPORTANT:Forbestperformance, keepmowerhousingfreeofbuilt-up grassandtrash.See=Cleaningin Maintenancesectionofthismanual, •Thespecialmulchingbladewillrecut thegrassclippingsmanytimesand reducetheminsizesothatastheyfall ontothelawntheywilldisperseintothe grassandnotbenoticed.Also,the mulchedgrasswillbiodegradequickly toprovidenutrientsforthelawn. Alwaysmulchwithyourhighestengine (blade)speedasthiswillprovidethe bestrecuttingactionoftheblades. •Avoidcuttingyourlawnwhenitiswet. Wetgrasstendstoformclumpsand interfereswiththemulchingaction.
