Neverplaceyourhands,feet,oranypartofyourbody intotheshredderhopper,chipperchute,discharge opening,ornearanymovingpartwhiletheengineis running.Keepclearofthedischargeopeningatall times.Ifitbecomesnecassarytopushmatedalinto thechipperchuteorshredderhopper,useasmall diameterstick,NOTYOURHANDS. Ifitisnecessaryforanyreasontounclogthefeed intakeordischargeopeningsortoinspectorrepairany partofthemachinewhereamovingpartcancomein contactwithyourbodyorclothing,stopthemachine, allowittocool,disconnectthesparkplugwirefromthe sparkplugandmoveitawayfromthesparkplug beforeattemptingtounclog,inspectorrepair. Donotoperateunitwhileundertheinfluenceofalcohol ordrugs. Themachineshouldonlybeoperatedonalevel surface.Neveroperateyourunitonaslippery,wet, muddyoricysurface.Keepyourworkareacleanand clearofbranchesorobstacleswhichcouldcauseyou tostumbleandfall.Donotoverreach.Maintaining properfootingandbalanceisessentialtopreventing accidents. Donotallowanaccumulationofprocessedmaterialto buildupinthedischargeareaasthiswillprevent properdischargeandcanresultinkick-backfromthe chipperchute. Keepyourfaceandbodybackfromchipperchuteto avoidaccidentalbouncebackofanymaterial. Donottransportmachinewhileengineisrunning. Ifthecuttingmechanismstdkesaforeignobjectorif yourmachineshouldstartmakinganunusualnoiseor vibration,immediatelystoptheengineandallowthe machinetocometoacompletestop.Disconnectthe sparkplugwireandmoveitawayfromthesparkplug. Theyareextremelyflammableandthevaporsare explosive. a.Storefuelandoilinapprovedcontainers,away fromheatandopenflame,andoutofthereachof children.Checkandaddfuelbeforestartingthe engine.Neverremovegascaporaddfuelwhile theengineisrunning.Allowenginetocoolat leasttwominutesbeforerefueling. b.Replacogasolinecapsecurelyandwipeoffany spilledgasolinebeforestartingtheengineasit maycauseafireorexplosion. c.Extinguishallcigarettes,cigars,pipesandother sourcesofignition. d.Neverrefuelunitindoorsbecauseflammable vaporswillaccumulateinthearea. e.Neverstorethemachineorfuelcontainerinside wherethereisanopenflameorsparksuchasa gashotwaterheater,spaceheater,clothesdryer orfurnace. Neverrunyourmachineinanenclosedareaasthe exhaustfromtheenginecontainscarbonmonoxide, whichisanodorless,tastelessanddeadlypoisonous gas. Toreducefirehazard,keepengineandmufflerfreeof leaves,grass,andotherdebrisbuild-up.Cleanupfuel andoilspillage.Allowunittocoolatleast5minutes beforestoring. Beforecleaning,repairing,orinspecting,makecertain theimpellerandallmovingpartshavestopped. Disconnectthesparkplugwireandkeepwireaway fromsparkplugtopreventaccidentalstarting.Donot useflammablesolutionstocleanairfilter. Checkthebladeandenginemountingscrewsat frequentintervalsforpropertightness.Alsovisually inspectbladesforwearand/ordamage(e.g.,bent, cracked).Replacewithbladeswhichmeetoriginal equipmentspecifications. Keepallnuts,bolts,andscrewsfighttobesurethe equipmentisinsafeworkingcondition. Nevertamparwithsafetydevices.Checktheirproper operationregularly. Afterstrikingaforeignobject,immediatelystopthe engine,disconnectthesparkplugwirefromthespark plug,andthoroughlyinspecttheunitforanydamage. Repairdamagebeforestartingandoperatingunit. Donotalterortamperwiththeenginesgovernor setting.Thegovernorcontrolsthemaximumsafe operatingspeedoftheengine.Over-speedingthe engineisdangerousandwillcausedamagetothe engineandtoothermovingpartsofthemachine. YOURRESPONSIBILITY Restricttheuseofthispowermachineto personswhoread,understandandfollowthe warningsandinstructionsinthismanualandon themachine.
