AfteryouaccepttheEULA,whentheCiscoHostUpgradeUtilitywindowappearswithalistofallthecomponents thatareavailableforupdate. Step 7Ifyouwanttoupdateallthelistedcomponents,clickUpdateall. Note•Ifyouareupdatingto2.0(x)fromversions1.5(1l)andbefore,orfromversion1.5.3boththeactiveand thebackupversionsofCiscoIMCwillbeupdatedto2.0(x). •DuringupdatetheKVMconnectionwillbelost,youhavetoreconnecttoviewtheprogressoftheupdates. EnablingCiscoIMCSecureBootconfirmationdialogboxappears. Step 8ReadthecontentontheconfirmationboxcarefullyandclickYes,ifyouwanttogoaheadandupdatethefirmwareand enableCiscoSecureBoot. Note•WerecommendyouupdatethefirmwareonallcomponentsusingtheUpdatealloption,unlessyouwant tospecificallyupdatethefirmwareofacomponent. •Whenyouupdatethefirmwareofoneofthefollowingthreecomponents:BIOS,CiscoIMC,orCMC, werecommendthatyoualsoupdatethefirmwareoftheothertwocomponents. •IfyouupdatetheCiscoIMCfirmware,clickExitandthenOktoactivatetheCiscoIMCfirmware. •IfyouchoosetoupdateCiscoIMCandanyothercomponentwithitandifyouhavenotchosenBIOS, thenonexit,youwillbepromptedtoupdatetheChassisFirmware,clickYesintheconfirmationboxto updatethechassisfirmware. ThisinitiatestheupdateandthestatusoftheupdateisdisplayedintheUpdateStatuscolumn.Youcanalsoviewa moredetailedlogofaseriesofactivitiesandstatusesthatareinvolvedwhileupdatingthefirmwareintheExecution Logssection. Step 11Ifyouwanttoupdatethefirmwareoftheharddiskofaserver,clickUpdateHDDFirmware.Awindowdisplaysalist ofharddiskdrivesontheserverthatsupportnewfirmware.Harddiskdrivesthatdonotsupportfirmwareupgradesare notlisted. Updatingthefirmwareoftheharddiskdrivecouldresultindataloss.Ciscorecommendsthatyoutakea completesystembackuppriortoupdatingthefirmware. Important a)Toupdatethefirmwareofalltheharddisks,clickUpdateAll. Withthisoption,HDDswiththelatestfirmwareinstalledarenotupdated. b)ToupdateaspecificHDD,choosetheHDDandclickUpdate. Step 12ClickExittoexitfromtheHUU. Note•IfyouhaveupdatedtheCiscoIMCandnottheBIOS,whenyouclickExit,CiscoIMCgetsactivatedand youloseconnectivitytotheCiscoIMCandKVM. •IfyouhaveselectedLOMforupdateandyouareonsharedLOMmode,whenyouclickExit,youlose connectivitytotheCiscoIMCandKVM. Step 13ClickYesattheconfirmationprompt. Step 14Reboottheservertoapplyfirmwarechanges. Step 15BoottheserverbackintoHUUISO,andclickLastUpdateVerifytoverifyiftheupdatewassuccessfullycompleted. ThisactioncomparesthepreviouslyupdatedfirmwareversionforeachcomponentthatwasupdatedusingtheHUU withthecurrentversionofthefirmwareonthecomponentsandprovidesthestatusoftheupdate. Step 16Ifyouwanttosavethelogfilesoftheupdatestatusforlateruse,clickSaveLogs. LogfilesthatcontainadetailedstatusoftheupdatearesavedtoanexternalUSBdevicethatisconnectedtotheserver physicallyorthroughtheKVMvMedia. Ifanerroroccurswhileupdatingthefirmware,youarepromptedtosavetheerrorlog.ClickSaveLogstosave thelogtoanexternallyconnectedUSB.Thislogcanbeusedforidentifyingthecauseoftheerrorand troubleshooting.
