SKORPION.INSTRUCTIONMANUAL@ SAFETYINSTRUCTIONS Alwaysfollowthesafetyinstructionsforyourownsafetyandthesafetyof others. 1.Alwayshandleyourfirearmasifitwereloaded. 2.Neverpointyourfirearmatanythingyoudonotintendtoshoot. 3.Nevertakeanyoneswordthatafirearmisunloaded. 4.Alwaysmakesurethatyourfirearmisnotloadedbeforelayingitdown,or handingittoanotherperson. 5.Alwayskeepandcarryyourfirearmempty,withthehammerforward (released),exceptwhenyouintendtoshoot. 6.Neverabuseyourfirearmbyusingitforanypurposeotherthanshooting. 7.Neverleavethefirearmcockedandreadytofireunattended. 8.Beforeloadingyourfirearmensurethatthebarrelbore,chamber,andaction arecleanandclearofobstructions.Aftershooting,cleanadirtiedfirearmas soonaspossible. 9.Alwaysuseonlyclean,dry,originalhighqualitycommerciallymanufactured ammunition,whichisappropriatetothecaliberofyourfirearm. 10.Neverdrinkalcoholicbeveragesortakedrugsbeforeorduringshooting. 11.Ifpossiblewearbothsafetyglassesandearprotectionwhenshooting. 12.Alwayskeepthesafetyonwhenthefirearmisloadedandcocked,untilyou arereadytofire. 13.Alwayskeepclearof,andkeepothersclearoftheejectionport. 14.Neversqueezethetriggerorputyourfingerinthetriggerguarduntilyouare aimingatatargetandreadytoshoot. 15.Alwaysbeabsolutelysureofyourtarget,andtheareabehindit,beforeyou squeezethetrigger.Abulletcouldtravelthroughorpastyourtargetupto severalhundredsofmeters. 16.Nevershootatahardsurfacesuchasrock,oraliquidsurfacesuchaswater. 17.Neverfireyourfirearmnearananimalunlessitistrainedtoacceptthenoise. 18.Neverindulgeinhorseplaywhileholdingyourfirearm. 19.Failuretofire:alwaysholdthefirearm,keepingitpointedtowardsthetarget, orasafeopenareaandwait30secondswhenthefirearmfailstofire.Ifa hangfire(slowignition)hasoccurred,theroundwillfirewithin30seconds.If therounddoesnotfire,removethemagazine,ejecttheroundandexamine theprimer;ifthefiringpinindentontheprimerislight,oroffcenter,ornon- existent,havethefirearmexaminedbyacompetentgunsmith.
~SKORPION-INSTRUCTIONMANUAL 20.Alwaysmakesureyourfirearmisnotloadedbeforecleaning,storingor travelling. 21.Alwayskeepandstoreyourfirearmandammunitioninseparatelocked receptaclesoutofthereachandsightofchildrenanduntrainedpeople. 22.Neveralteranypartsofyourfirearmasthesafetyandproperfunctionofyour firearmcouldbeseriouslycompromised. 23.Alwaysbeawarethatcorrosion,useofdamagedammunition,droppingthe firearmonhardsurfacesorothercoarsetreatmentcouldcausedamageyou maynotsee.Ifsomethinglikethishappens,havethefirearmexaminedand testedbyacompetentgunsmith.

UnfoldthefoldoutsofthisInstructionManualwhenreadingit;inordertobe abletoseealltheillustratiol1sprintedontheinsidesofthecovers. TheSkorpionsubmachinegunisageneralpurpose,lightandautomatic firearmforindividuals.Thisfirearmcanbefiredeitherinfullyautomatic,orin semi-automaticmodesoffire.TheSkorpionhasasimplefolding(retractable) stock,thusenablingshootingfromshoulder.Ifthestockisfolded(retracted),then thissubmachineguncanbefiredhand-heldinsemiautomaticorfullyautomatic modesoffire.Theeffectiverangeoffirefromtheshoulderisupto150m,hand- heldupto50m.Itsverylightweight,andsmalldimensions,allowtheconcealed carryanduseofthissubmachineguninveryrestrictedspaces. TheSkorpionisequippedwitharatereducerusedtolowerthecyclicrateof fire;thisdevicealsoabsorbsboltrecoil,andsteadiestheweaponaftereachshot. Thesafety-selectorleverfeaturesthreepositions:1-semiautomaticfire,20- fullyautomaticfire,and0-Safety-Onmode. Themagazinesareofdoublecolumntypewithadoublecolumnoutlet.The Skorpioncomeswithsocalledshortandlongmagazines(seeTechnical Specificationsfortheirrespectivecapacity).Theboltstayslockedopenwhenthe lastcartridgefromthemagazinehasbeenfired. DisassemblyforcleaningandpreservingpurposesoftheSkorpiondoesnot requiretheuseofanytools.
~SKORPION-INSTRUCTIONMANUAL OPERATINGINSTRUCTIONS Ammunition Useonlyfactory-manufacturedstandardammunitionofanappropriatecaliber, whichisincompliancewithCIPregulations(InternationalProofCommissionfor Firearms),orSAAMI(SportingArmsandAmmunitionManufacturersInstituteInc. oftheUnitedStates).Theuseofothercartridgescoulddamagethefirearmor causemalfunctionsorinjurytotheshooter. ExtendingofShoulderStock Holdthesubmachinegunbythegripasifshooting,andpush(tap)thecurved partoftheshoulderstocklocatedbeneaththebarrel(Fig.2)frombelow.Then grasptheshoulderstockandrotatebackwardstoitsextendedposition. RetractingofShoulderStock Firmlyholdthesubmachinegunsmagazineinthelefthand.Usingyourother thumb,whilegrippingthepistolgrip,presstheknurledpartoftheleftshoulder- stockholder(asclosetotheshoulderstockaxisofrotationaspossible-Fig.3). Aftersufficientpressure,rotatetheshoulderstockupwardsandforwarduntilit catcheswiththefrontsightprotectioncapture. RemovaloftheMagazine Holdthesubmachinegunwiththerighthandbyitsgrip,andgraspthe magazinebytheother.Depressthemagazinecatchwiththeleft-handthumb (Fig.4),andwithasimultaneousdownwardmotion,removethemagazine. MagazineLoading Withtheopenenduppermost,graspthemagazineinonehand.Place acartridgeonthemagazinefollower,withthecartridgeheadplacedagainstthe rearwallofthemagazine.Pressthecartridgedownuntilitisinsertedunderthe magazinelips.Placethenextcartridgeontopofthepreviouscartridgeandloadit inthesamemanner(Fig.5). Thenumberofcartridgesloadedcanbecheckedbymeansoftheinspection holesintherearwallofthemagazine. Donottrytoexceedthemagazinecapacity-doingsocancauseafeed failure. SubmachineGunLoading CAUTION: ALWAYSMAKESURETHESUBMACHINEGUNISPOINTEDINASAFE DIRECTIONWHENLOADING! Insertaloadedmagazineandensurethatithasengagedthemagazinecatch.
SKORPION.INSTRUCTIONMANUAL@ Disengagethesubmachinegunsafetybyrotatingthesafety-selectorlever eithertoposition1ortoposition20.(Thesubmachinegunwithitssafety- selectorinposition0Le.Safe-cannotbeloaded!). Holdthesubmachinegunbythegripwithonehand,andwiththethumband indexfingeroftheothergrasptheboltcockingknobslocatedonbothsidesofthe receiver.Retracttheboltfullytoitsstopandthenallowittosnapforward(Fig.6). Thisprocedurecocksthehammer,andinsertsacartridgeintothechamber.The submachinegunisnowreadytofire.Ifyoudonotintendtofireimmediately, ensurethesubmachineguns-safetybysettingthesafetyselectorlevertoposition0. SemiautomaticFire Semiautomaticfirecanbeinitiatedaftershiftingthesafety-selectorlevertoits 1position,Le.rearwards.Afterpressingthetriggerasinglecartridgeisdischarged. Thenextcartridgeisfiredafterthetriggerisreleasedandpressedagain. AutomaticFire Forfullyautomaticfire,itisnecessarytochangethesafetyselectorpositionto 20Le.forwards.Ifthesubmachinegunisloaded,andthemagazineholdsa sufficientnumberofcartridges,thenfiringcanbeinitiatedatanytimebypressing thetrigger,andinterruptedbyreleasingthetrigger.Thelengthoftheburst dependsonhowlongthetriggerisdepressed,andcanbefrom2cartridgesupto thefullcapacityofthemagazine. ReloadingDuringShooting Whenthelastcartridgehasbeenfired,theboltstaysinitsrear(lockedopen position).Removetheemptiedmagazineandreplaceitwithaloadedone.Partially retractthebolt,andreleaseittosnapforward.Thesubmachinegunisloadedagain, andreadytofire. UnloadingtheSubmachjneGun ALWAYSMAKESURETHESUBMACHINEGUNISPOINTEDINASAFE DIRECTION! -Removethemagazine -Disengagethesubmachinegunsafety(rotatethesafety-selectorto position1or20) -Retracttheboltandverifythatthecartridgechamberisempty.(Thelock openpushbuttoncanbedepressed,whilepullingtheboltback,andthen releasedtoholdtheboltinitslockedopenposition,thusenabling verificationoftheemptycartridgechamberbyanotherperson.) -Allowthebolttosnapforward -Depressthetrigger(dryfire)
@SKORPION-INSTRUCTIONMANUAL EngagingtheSafeModeoftheSubmachineGun Rotatethesafety-selectorleverdownwardstothe0indicator.Thisprocedure blocksthetriggermechanismandbait,thuspreventingboththeinadvertent pullingofthetriggerandoperationsofthebolt. SightAdjustment Thesubmachinegunwassighted-inatthemanufacturingpiant,atadistance of75m,sothatthemeanpointofimpactapproximatelyconformstothepointof aim. Theflip-overrearsight(Fig.7)canbesetfora150-mrangeoffire.Contingent sightcorrectionshouldbecarriedoutbyagunsmith,byrotatingtheeccentric frontsightafterpartialeasingofthefrontsightsleevescrew. ShoulderStockRemoval incaseofneedthereisanoptiontoremovetheshoulderstockcompletely. Extendtheshoulderstockandwhiledepressingtheshoulderstockbaselatch, slidetheshoulderstocktotheleftandout.
