     OEven when the Ready screen is displayed, you can insert the memory card \
     p.  13 to display the screen in 
    Step 4 and print images in the card. 
     O You can stop displaying the Ready screen when you turn the power on by se\
    lecting [Disable Wireless 
    LAN] in [Comm. Mode] (p.  41).    
    Printing on Square Stickers
     OYou can print square images on stickers using Color Ink Cassette/Square L\
    abel Set KC-18IS  (p.  2). OSpecify borderless printing in the smartphone's application (the [Borde\
    rs] setting on SELPHY will be 
    ignored).
    Printing in Infrastructure Mode
    You can connect wireless LAN ready devices such as smartphones, cameras, \
    and computers to a wireless 
    LAN to print images.
    Checking Wireless LAN Settings
     OIn order to use a wireless LAN in infrastructure mode, you need to conne\
    ct a wireless parent station 
    (wireless router, etc.) acting as the access point and a device that transmits images (smartphone, camera, 
    computer, etc.). Any wireless parent stations such as wireless routers are called "access points" in this 
    guide.
     OSome cameras can be used as an access point. Refer to the user guide sup\
    plied with your camera. OSelect wireless LAN standards compliant devices listed on  p.  52 for your access point.  Refer to the user 
    guide supplied with your access point for information on how to check.
     O Check if your wireless LAN is WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) compatible. If you are not sure whether or not 
    it is WPS compatible, also check the following items.
     -Network name (SSID/ESSID) -Network authentication/data encryption (encryption method/encryption mode)* -Encryption key (network key)* Supported security settings are [No security], [WEP (open system authentication) (64-bit)], [WEP (open system 
    authentication) (128-bit), [WPA-PSK (TKIP)], [WPA-PSK (AES)], [WPA2-PSK (TKIP)], and [WPA2-PSK (AES)].
     O If your network is managed by the system administrator, request details of network settings from 
    the administrator.
    Connecting the Printer to the Wireless LAN
    You can connect the printer to the wireless LAN and print from your smart\
    phone, camera, or computer via the 
    access point.
    This section describes how to connect a printer to a wireless LAN using a camera as the access point; 
    however, the same procedure applies when you are printing from a smartphone or \
    computer.
    Items to Prepare
     OA device that can be used as an access point* OA device that transmits images (smartphone, camera, or computer connected to the access point)** A camera is used as the access point as well as the transmitter in this example.
    Prepare the access point.
     OConfigure a camera as the access point. Refer to the 
    user guide supplied with your camera.
     OIf you are using an access point other than a camera, 
    check that the device is turned on and able to 
    communicate.

    Select the wireless LAN mode.
     ODisplay the screen on the left by carrying out Steps 2 to 
    4 described on  p.  29. OPress the ud buttons to select [Infrastructure], and 
    then press the o button.
    Select the connection method.
     OPress the ud buttons to select [Search for an access 
    point], and then press the o button.
     XA list of access points found nearby is displayed.
    Select the access point.
     OPress the ud buttons to select the access point, and 
    then press the o button.
    Enter the encryption key.
     OPress the EDIT button to display the screen to enter 
    characters and enter the encryption key  (p.  42). OPress the o button.

    Check the access point.
     OThe screen on the left is displayed when you are 
    connected to the access point. Check the displayed 
    access point name and press the  o button.
     XThe screen on the left is displayed.
    Print.
     OPrint the image from the camera. OIf you are printing from a smartphone, install the 
    designated application, connect the smartphone to the 
    access point, and print.
     OIf you are printing from a computer, install the supplied 
    software (p.  37) and print. XThe screen on the left is displayed when printing starts. 
    Do not shut down the communication and do not cancel 
    printing while this screen is displayed. The printing result 
    may be incomplete or incorrect.
     O Select an access point on which security is not set in Step 4 and press \
    the  o button to display the screen for 
    Step 6.
     O Up to 20 access points can be displayed. If you cannot find the access point you want to connect to, press the 
    v button and select [Manual Settings] in Step 3 described on  p.  32 to specify the access point manually. Follow 
    the instruction on the screen to enter the SSID, security settings, and \
    encryption key  (p.  42). OOn the screen, wireless signal strength is indicated by the following ic\
    ons. 
    [] high, [] medium, [] low, [] weak or no service
    Printing for the Second Time
     OOnce you have configured settings, the second screen in Step 6 (Ready screen) is displayed when you 
    turn the power on. If you could not connect to the specified wireless LAN for some reason such as the 
    access point being turned of
    f, the Ready screen with "Reconnect" displayed at the bottom appears. Check 
    the access point setting and press the  o button to try again.
     OEven when the Ready screen is displayed, you can insert the memory card \
     p.  13 to display the screen in 
    Step 4 and print images in the card. 
     O You can stop displaying the Ready screen when you turn the power on by se\
    lecting [Disable Wireless 
    LAN] in [Comm. Mode] (p.  41).
     OIf you failed to connect to an access point to which you had once connec\
    ted, check the channel 
    setting on the access point  (p.  51).

    Printing on Square Stickers
     OYou can print square images on stickers using Color Ink Cassette/Square L\
    abel Set KC-18IS  (p.  2). OSpecify borderless printing in the smartphone's application or on the ca\
    mera when printing on square 
    stickers (the [Borders] setting on SELPHY will be ignored except when the border setting on the camera is 
    at its default).
    Using a WPS Compatible Access Point
    You can connect the printer to the wireless LAN easily when your access p\
    oint is WPS compatible.
    Select the connection method.
     ODisplay the [Connection Method] screen in Steps 1 to 2  
    described on  pp.  31 –  32, press the ud buttons, 
    select [WPS Connection], and then press the  o button.
    Select a setting method.
     OPress the ud buttons to select [PBC Method] and 
    press the o button.
    Connect to the access point.
     OCheck that the screen on the left is displayed on the 
    printer and then press and hold the button for WPS 
    connection on the access point for a few seconds.
     OPress the o button on the printer. O[Connecting...] is displayed on the printer screen, and 
    then [Connected to access point] is displayed when 
    connected. Press the o button.

    Print the images.
     OWhen connected, the screen for Step 6 described on 
    p.  33 is displayed. Print as described in Steps 6 to 7.
     O If you have selected [PIN Method] in Step 2, specify the PIN code displa\
    yed on the printer to the access point, 
    press the o button on the printer, and proceed to Step 3.
    Printing Images from Your Computer
    If you connect your computer to SELPHY and use the supplied software, you can view all images at once and 
    take advantage of various printing functions that cannot be done with ju\
    st SELPHY alone.
    Select favorite images from an index and print
     OYou can select images you wish to print from an index, and print them all at 
    once. You can also add text to your images and print.
    Print with decorations
     OYou can add frames or stamps to your images and print. You can also add 
    text to your images and print.
    Print calendars
     OYou can add calendars to your prints. You can also add text to your images 
    and print.
    Arrangement printing
     OYou can arrange multiple images on the same sheet.
    ID photo printing
     OYou can print in the size required for ID photos.
     OThe ID photo may not be accepted officially, depending on the institution the ID photo is required 
    for. Please contact the appropriate institution for regulation details.

    Install the software
    Windows 7 and Mac OS X 10.7 are used for these explanations.
    Items to Prepare
     OComputer OSupplied CD-ROM (SELPHY CP900 Solution Disk)  (p.  2)
    Windows
    Connect SELPHY to the wireless LAN.
     OConnect SELPHY to the wireless LAN as described in 
    “Connecting the Printer to the Wireless LAN”  (p.  31). OCheck that the screen on the left is displayed on 
    SELPHY.
    Install the software.
     OPlace the CD-ROM in the computer’s CD-ROM drive 
    and click [Easy Installation] when the screen on the left 
    appears.
     OFollow the on-screen instructions to proceed. OIf the User Account Control window appears, follow the 
    on-screen instructions to proceed.
     OWhen the screen to select the connection method (on the 
    left) is displayed, select [Use with a wireless network], 
    and then click [Next].
     OIf a message [Windows can't verify the publisher of this 
    driver software] is displayed, click [Install this driver 
    software anyway].
     OWhen the installation finishes, click [Restart] to restart 
    the computer.

    Macintosh
    Install the software.
     OInsert the CD-ROM in the computer’s CD-ROM drive. 
    Click [Finder] in the Dock (the bar at the bottom of the 
    desktop) and double click [ 
     ] in the CD-ROM. OIf [  ] is displayed on the desktop, you can also double-
    click [  ] to display files in the CD-ROM. O When the screen on the left appears, click [Install] and 
    follow the on-screen instructions to proceed.
     OWhen the installation finishes, click [Yes] to restart the 
    computer.
    Connect SELPHY to the wireless LAN.
     OConnect SELPHY to the wireless LAN as described in 
    “Connecting the Printer to the Wireless LAN”  (p.  31). OCheck that the screen on the left is displayed on 
    SELPHY.
    Register the printer.
     OSelect [  ] from the menu, and click [System 
    Preferences] r [Print & Fax] to open the [Print & Fax] 
    screen. Click [+] to select the printer name (pp. 
     29,  41) 
    from the pop-up window, then click [Add].
     O For details on handling the computer, refer to the user guide included with your computer.

    Printing Images with the Software
    You can print images saved on the computer using the installed software (SELPHY Photo Print).
    The [Simple print] feature will be explained in this section. Using this feature, you can view all your images at 
    once and select which ones you want to print.
    Make sure that a memory card is not inserted 
    in SELPHY, and a USB cable is not connected 
    to SELPHY.
    Start the software.
    Windows
     OClick the [Start] menu r [All Programs] r [Canon 
    Utilities] 
    r [SELPHY Photo Print] r [SELPHY Photo 
    Print].
    Macintosh
     O Click the [SELPHY Photo Print] icon in the Dock (the bar 
    at the bottom of the desktop).
    Display the print menu.
     OClick [Print menu]. OIf printing preparations are not complete (paper cassette 
    and ink cassette inserted), you cannot click [Print 
    menu]. Follow the on-screen instructions to perform the 
    necessary operations.
    Select a print method.
     OClick [Simple print]. OYou can make prints with frames, stamps, and speech 
    balloons by clicking [Decoration print].
     OYou can make prints with calendars added by clicking 
    [Calendar print].
     OYou can print multiple images on the same sheet by 
    clicking [Layout Print].
     OYou can print in the size required for ID photos by 
    clicking [ID Photo Print].

    You can display images saved in another folder by clicking 
    this button and selecting a folder from the screen that 
    appears.
    You can select the criteria for images 
    to display.
    Select an image.
     XImages will display in an index within the [Pictures] 
    folder.
     OClick an image to select for printing. XThe background color changes and the 
    image is set for printing.
     OUse the same procedure to click all images 
    you want to print.
     OIf you click an image again, the background 
    color switches back to the original color 
    and the settings are canceled.
     OOnce images are selected, click [Next].
    Click the - or + button to set the 
    number of copies.
    Select the number of prints.
     OSelect the number of copies for each image. OFor Windows, click [Print] to start printing. OFor Macintosh, click [Print menu], then click [Print] in the 
    screen that appears.
     ODo not shut down the communication until printing 
    is complete. If you shut down the communication 
    prematurely, the printing result may be incomplete or 
    incorrect.
    End the program.
    Windows
     OWhen all printing is finished, click  at the top right 
    corner of the screen.
    Macintosh
     O When all printing is finished, click  at the top left corner 
    of the screen.
     O The layout image shown in the right side of the screen that is displayed\
     when you click [ID Photo Print] in Step 
    4 on p.  39 differs from the actual layout. You can check the actual layout by clicking [Preview] in the [4.Print] 
    screen.
     O If you select an index layout in the screen that is displayed when you click [Layout Print] in Step 4  on  p.  39, then 
    you cannot adjust the image, such as changing the size or orientation of\
     the image in the [4.Print] screen.
