Connecting a Power Source and the Camera to 
the Printer
Connect the camera to the printer using the cable (included with the camera) 
and turn the printer’s power on.
For more detailed camera connection instructions, refer to your  Camera User 
Guide  or Direct Print User Guide .

When the Indicator Blinks
The indicator of the printer blinks if any error occurs during printing.
• E-mail and phone directories cannot be printed.
• Images downloaded from internet homepages or images originally downloaded 
from a URL and attached to e-mail cannot be printed. This restriction is for 
protecting mobile phone security.
• Some mobile phones have limited memory capacity for infrared data transmission 
and you may not be able to print the image in the best quality.

Battery Usage
Using the Battery Pack
You can use the rechargeable battery pack (Battery Pack NB-CP2L) to print.
The Battery Pack NB-CP1L (sold separately) cannot be used.
„Charging the Battery Pack
Attach the battery pack NB-CP2L to the printer to charge it.

Remove the battery pack’s 
terminal cover.
• When the battery pack is not in use, always 
store it with its terminal cover on.

Connect the compact power 
adapter cable to the printer.
• The indicator lights orange while charging and turns off once the battery pack is fully 
charged.

Disconnect the compact power 
adapter cable from the printer 
once charging is complete.
• If the power button is pressed and the printer’s power turns on while charging the 
battery pack, charging will stop. Pressing the power button again will turn off the 
printer and charging will resume.

• When the battery pack is used to power the printer, the printer will automatically turn off if it is idle for 5 minutes or more.
• This is a lithium ion battery pack so there is no need to completely use or  discharge it before recharging. It can be charged at any charge state.
• It takes approximately 150 minutes to bring a fully discharged battery pack to a full  charge state (based on standard Canon testing criteria).
• Charge it within a temperature range of 5 to 40
oC (41 to 104oF).

If battery status is running down and the indicator of the printer blinks orange while 
the printer is connected to the camera, the camera’s LCD monitor may display the
