Receiving Faxes (MF6550/MF6560/MF6580 Only)
Select the Receive ModeExit the Setting Menu
Select the receive mode with []

: Answers all calls as faxes.
: Switches between fax and voice calls

Copying
Follow this procedure to make a copy.
For advanced copying features, see Chapter 2, “Advanced Copy Features,” in the 
Advanced Guide.
Set a DocumentEnter the Copy Mode
Place the document on the platen 
glass or load it in the ADF.
For documents you can copy, see “Document 
Requirements,” on p. 2-1.
Press [COPY].
The COPY indicator lights and the machine enters copy 
standby mode.

Scan Settings
Before pressing [Start] to begin copying, you can adjust the settings to better 
suit the document to be scanned. These settings return to the default values if 
Auto Clear function is activated or if you press [Reset].
Image Quality
1Press [COPY].
2Press [Image Quality] repeatedly to select the document type.
: For text documents.
: For documents that contain fine text or photos.
: For documents that contain text and photos.

Copy density automatically changes to manual...

●Preset Zoom
You can enlarge or reduce documents from one standard paper size to another.
1Press [Enlarge/Reduce].
2Press [ ] or [ ] to select the copy ratio, then press [OK].
–200% MAX.
–129% STMT → LT R
–100%
– 78% LGL → LT R
–64% LTR → STMT
–50% MIN.
NOTE
When  in the  menu is set to  or , the 
preset copy ratios change as follows:
A: 50%, 70%, 100%, 141%, 200%
AB: 50%, 70%, 81%, 86%, 100%, 115%, 122%, 141%, 200%

● Zoom Designation
You can reduce or enlarge images by any copy ratio, in 1% increments*. The available 
copy ratios are from 50% to 200%.
* Not available for MF6531
1Press [Enlarge/Reduce] twice.
2Enter the copy ratio with the numeric keys, then press [OK].
You can use [ ] or [ ] to adjust the zoom ratio. To increase the zoom ratio, press [ ]. To 
decrease the copy ratio, press [ ].
NOTE 
To return the copy ratio to 100%, press [Enlarge/Reduce] repeatedly to display , 
then press [OK].
