Selecting the Method to Connect the 
Machine
 ●Connecting \fia a Wired LANYou can connect the machine to a wired router. Use the LAN 
cables to connect the machine to the wired router (access \foint).
   Connect the com\futer to the router by cable or wirelessly.
   Make sure that there is an available \fort in the router to connect 
the machine and the \hc om\futer.
   Have a LAN Cable of Category \b or higher twisted-\fair cable ready.
 ●Connecting \fia a USB cableYou can connect the machine to the com\futer using a USB 
cable.
   Make sure that the USB cable you use has the following 
mark.

Are the comp\bter and the ro\bter (or h\bb) properly 
connected \bsing a LAN cable?
For more information, see the instr\huction manual for the 
network device you are using, or contact the networking

completed?
If the com\futer is not \fro\ferly configured, you may not use 
the wired LAN connection even after com\fleting the following 
settings.

Connecting \fia a Wired LAN
1 Connect the LAN cable.
The IP address will be automatically configured in 2 
minutes. If you want to set the IP address manually, see 
the following items.
  e-Manual "Network" ► "Connecting to a Network" ► 
"Setting IP Addresses"
2 Install the driver and software using the \frovided 
User Software DVD-ROM.
 See "For details on the i\hnstallation \frocedures:" (P. 13).
 Proceed to "Setting the Pa\fer Size and Ty\fe" (P. 12).
Connecting \fia a USB Cable
Install the driver and software on the User Software DVD-ROM 
included with the m\hachine.
NOTE
If you connected the USB cable be\hfore installing, first 
remove the USB cable, and then re-install.
1 Install the driver and software using the User 
Software DVD-ROM.
 See "For details on the i\hnstallation \frocedures:" (P. 13).
2 Connect the USB cable.
 Proceed to "Setting the Pa\fer Size and Ty\fe" (P. 12).
Setting the Paper Size and Type
Following the instructions on the screen, set the \fa\fer t\hy\fe.
When loading \fa\fer in\h the other tray or feeder, \flease refer to 
the e-Manual.

enables you to construct a network environment easily. The 
machine can be used\h to increase work efficiency as a shared 
machine in the office.
Remote UI
You can view the mac\hhine's status from the com\futers on 
the network. You can access the machine and\h manage jobs or 
s\fecify various settings via \hthe network.

User Software DVD-ROM. For details on the i\hnstallation

   You can also download the driver from the Canon Web site.
Windows Mac OS
For Mac \bsers:
The User Software DVD-ROM su\f\flied with this\h machine 
may not include the d\hriver for Mac OS. This is different, 
de\fending on when y\hou \furchase the machine. Please find 
and download the a\f\fro\friate driver on our Canon home 
\fage. For further information on installation or using the

Clearing Paper Jams
If the following screen a\f\fears, a \fa\fer jam has oc\hcurred in the feeder or inside the\h machine. 
Follow the \frocedure dis\flayed on the screen to remove the jammed docume\hnt or \fa\fer. This 
manual indicates only the areas where \fa\fer jams occur. For details on each \hfunction, see the 
e-Manual.

Replacing Toner Cartridges
Toner cartridges are consumables. When the amount remaining in a toner cartridge is low, a message a\f\fears\h on the screen or the 
following \froblems may occur. Take the a\f\fro\friate Corres\fonding action.
When a Message Appears
The machine dis\flays a message when th\he amount  remaining in a toner cartridge is low.

1 Connectez le câble réseau (LAN).
L'adresse IP sera automatiquement configurée en
