You can magnify images up to about 10x by continuing to hold the zoom lever. zzTo zoom out, move the zoom lever toward . You can return to single- image display by continuing to hold it. 2 Move the display position and switch images as needed. zzTo move the display position, press the buttons. zzWhile [] is displayed, you can switch to [] by pressing the button. To switch to other images while zoomed, press the buttons. Press the button again to restore the original setting. • You can return to single-image display from magnified display by pressing the button. Approximate Position of Displayed Area Still ImagesMovies Viewing Slideshows Automatically play back images from a memory card as follows. Each image is displayed for about three seconds. Choose a slideshow transition and start playback. zzPress the button, choose [.] in the menu, and choose the desired option (= 28). XXThe slideshow will start a few seconds after [Loading image] is displayed. zzPress the button to stop the slideshow. • The camera’s power-saving functions ( = 26) are deactivated during slideshows. • To pause or resume slideshows, press the < m> button. • You can switch to other images during playback by pressing the < q> buttons. For fast-forward or fast-rewind, hold the < q> buttons down. • In image search mode ( = 88), only images matching search conditions are played. COPY

Still Images Auto Playback of Similar Images (Smart Shuffle) Based on the current image, the camera offers four images similar to it that you may wish to view. After you choose to view one of those images, the camera offers four more images. This is an enjoyable way to play back images in an unexpected order. Try this feature after you have taken many shots, in many kinds of scenes. 1 Choose Smart Shuffle. zzPress the button, and then choose [] in the menu (= 28). XXFour candidate images are displayed. 2 Choose an image. zzPress the buttons to choose the image you want to view next. XXYour chosen image is displayed in the center, surrounded by the next four candidate images. zzFor full-screen display of the center image, press the button. [Protected] is displayed. zzTo cancel protection, repeat this process and choose [:] again, and then press the button. • Protected images on a memory card will be erased if you format the card (= 136, 137). • Protected images cannot be erased using the camera’s erasure function. Be careful when erasing images, because they cannot be recovered. However, protected images (= 93) cannot be erased. 1 Choose an image to erase. zzPress the buttons to choose an image. 2 Erase the image. zzPress the button, and then choose [a] in the menu (= 28). zzAfter [Erase?] is displayed, press the buttons to choose [Erase], and then press the button. XXThe current image is now erased. zzTo cancel erasure, press the < q> buttons to choose [Cancel], and then press the button. Erasing All Images You can erase all images at once. Be careful when erasing images, because they cannot be recovered. However, protected images (= 93) cannot be erased. Each time you press the button, the image is rotated 90°. Press the button to complete the setting. Additionally, images already rotated will be displayed in the original orientation. • In Smart Shuffle (= 92) mode, even if [Auto Rotate] is set to [Off], images shot vertically will be displayed vertically, and rotated images will be displayed in the rotated orientation. Image Categories You can organize images by tagging them as favorites. By choosing a category in filtered playback, you can restrict the following operations to all of those images. • Viewing ( = 84), Viewing Slideshows ( = 91), Protecting Images (= 93), Erasing Images ( = 96), Adding Images to the Print List (DPOF) (= 150), Adding Images to a Photobook ( = 153) Still ImagesMovies Tagging Images as Favorites zzPress the button, and then choose [] in the menu (= 28). XX[Tagged as Favorite] is displayed. zzTo untag the image, repeat this process and choose [] again, and then press the button. (Does not apply to movies.) Editing Still Images • Image editing ( = 100 – 103) is only available when the memory card has sufficient free space. Still Images Resizing Images Save a copy of images at a lower resolution. 1 Choose [Resize]. zzPress the button and choose [Resize] on the [1] tab (= 29). 2 Choose an image. zzPress the buttons to choose an image, and then press the < m> button. 3 Choose an image size. zzPress the buttons to choose the size, and then press the button.
