By setting various optional settings with the menus, you can set the 
Picture Style, date/time, Custom F unctions, etc. While looking at the 
LCD monitor, you use the < M> button on the camera back and the 
  dials.

1Display the menu.
 Press the < M> button to display 
the menu.
2Select a tab.
  Turn the  dial to select a tab.
3Select a menu item.
 Turn the  dial to select the menu 
item, then press <
0>.
4Select the setting.
  Turn the  dial to select the 
desired setting.
5Set the desired setting.
  Press  to set it.
6Exit the menu.
 Press the < M> button to exit the 
menu and return to camera shooting.

 Under the [ 6] tab, select 
[ Language ] (the third item from the 
top), then press < 0>.
2Set the desired language.
  Turn the < 5> dial to select the 
language, then press < 0>.
X The language will change.
Check if the camera’s date and time  are set correctly. If necessary, set 
the correct date and time.

To save battery power, the camera turns off automatically after a certain 
time of non-operation.
You can change this auto power-off time.
If you do not want the camera to turn off automatically, set this to [Off]. 
After the power turns off, you can turn on the camera again by pressing 
the shutter button or other button.
1Select [Auto power off].
  Under the [ 5] tab, select [ Auto 
power off ], then press < 0>.
2Set the desired time.

2Select the memory card.
 [f ] is the CF card, and [ g] is the SD 
card.
  Turn the < 5> dial to select the card, 
then press < 0>.
3Select [OK].
  When [ g] is selected, low-level 
formatting is possible. (p.49)
  Turn the < 5> dial to select [ OK], 
then press < 0>.
X The memory card will be formatted.
X When the formatting is completed, 
the menu will reappear.
  When the memory card is formatted or erased, only the file management 
information is changed. The actual dat a is not...

About Low-level Formatting
When [g] SD card is selected, low-level formatting is possible. If the 
writing speed to the SD card is slower than usual or if you want to 
completely erase the data in the SD card, checkmark [ Low level 
format ] and format the card.
Press the < L> button.
  In step 3 on the preceding page, 
press the < L> button. 
X The [ Low level format ] option will be 
checkmarked < X>.
  With < X> displayed, select [ OK] to 
start the low-level formatting.
