    Q Quick Control During Playback
    To rotate an image, set the [ 5 Auto rotate ] menu to [On zD ]. If it is set to 
    any other setting, the image will not rotate.
      If you shoot in RAW+JPEG image  quality, the RAW image will be 
    displayed.
      Pressing the < Q> button during the index di splay will switch to the 
    single-image display and the Quick Control screen  will appear. Pressing 
    the < Q> button again will return to the index display.
      Regarding images not take n with the EOS 60D, selectable functions may 
    be limited.

    Basically, you can playback movies in the following three ways:
    Use the provided AV cable or an HDMI 
    Cable HTC-100 (sold separately) to 
    connect the camera to a TV set. Then 
    you can playback the captured movies 
    and photos on the TV.
    If you have a High-Definition TV set and 
    connect your camera with an HDMI 
    cable, you can watch Full HD (Full High-
    Definition: 1920x1080) and HD (High-
    Definition: 1280x720) movies with higher 
    image quality.

    Playback on a TV set(p.209, 212)
     Movies on a card can be  played only by devices compatible with MOV 
    files.
      Since hard disk recorder s do not have an HDMI IN terminal, the camera 
    cannot be connected with an HDMI cable.
      Even if the camera is  connected to a hard di sk recorder with a USB 
    cable, movies and photos c annot be played nor saved.

    k Enjoying Movies
    You can playback movies on the 
    camera’s LCD monitor and even edit out 
    the first and last scenes. You can also 
    playback the photos and movies 
    recorded in the card as an automatic 
    slide show.
    (See the PDF file instruction manu al for ZoomBrowser EX/ImageBrowser)
    The movie files recorded in the card can 
    be transferred to a personal computer 
    and played or edited with ZoomBrowser 
    EX/ImageBrowser (provided software).
    You can also extract a single frame from 
    a movie and save it as a still photo.

    Playback and Editing with a Personal Computer
    A movie edited with a personal computer  cannot be rewritten to the card and 
    played back with the camera.
      To have the movie playback smoothl y on a personal computer, the 
    personal computer must be a high-performance model. Regarding the 
    hardware requirements for ZoomBr owser EX/ImageBrowser, see the 
    PDF file instruction manual.
      If you want to use commer cially-available software to playback or edit the 
    movies, be sure it is compatible with MOV files. For details on 
    commercially-available software , inquire the software maker.

    1Playback the image.
     Press the < x> button to display the 
    images.
    2Select a movie.
      Turn the < 5> dial to select the 
    movie to be played.
      With the single-image display, the 
     icon displayed on the 
    upper left indicates that it is a movie.
     
    On the index display, the perforation on 
    the left edge of the im age indicates that it 
    is a movie. 
    As movies cannot be played 
    on the index display, press  to 
    switch to the single-image display.
    3On the single-image display, press .
    X The movie playback panel will appear 
    on the bottom.
    4Playback the movie.
      Select [7 ] (Play), then press < 0>.
    X The movie will start playing.
      You can pause the movie playback by 
    pressing .
      During movie playback, you can 
    adjust the sound volume by turning 
    the < 6> dial.
      For more details on the playback 
    procedure, see the next page.

    2 ExitReturns to the single-image display.
    7 PlayPressing < 0> toggles between play and stop.
    8 Slow motionAdjust the slow motion speed by pressing the  key. 
    The slow-motion speed is in dicated on the upper right.
    5 First frameDisplays the movie’s first frame.
    3 Previous frameEach time you press < 0>, a single previous frame is 
    displayed. If you hold down < 0>, it will rewind the movie.
    6 Next frameEach time you press < 0>, the movie will play frame-by-
    frame. If you hold down < 0>, it will fast forward the 
    movie.
    4  Last frameDisplays the movie’s last frame.
    X  EditDisplays the editing screen (p.206).
    Playback position

     Vo l u m eYou can adjust the built-in s peaker’s (p.204) sound volume 
    by turning the  dial.
     With a fully-charged Batt ery Pack LP-E6, the cont inuous playback time 
    will be approx. 4  hours at 23°C/73°F.
      During the single-image display, press the < B> button to switch the 
    shooting information display (p.266).
      If you took a still photo while you sh ot the movie, the still photo will be 
    displayed for approx. 1 sec.  during the movie playback.
      If you connect the  camera to a TV set (p.209,  212) to playback a movie, 
    adjust the sound volume with the TV set. (Turning the < 6> dial will not 
    adjust the sound volume.)

    You can edit out the first and last scenes of a movie in 1-sec. increments.
    1On the movie playback screen, 
    select [X].
    X The editing screen will be displayed.
    2Specify the part to be edited out.
      Select either [ U] (Cut beginning) or 
    [V ] (Cut end), then press < 0>.
     
    Press the  key to fast forward or turn 
    the <
    5> dial (next frame) to specify the 
    part to be edited out, then press . After deciding which pa rt to edit out, press 
    <
    0>. The portion highlighted in blue on 
    the top of the screen  is what will remain.
    3Check the edited movie.
     Select [7] and press  to playback 
    the portion highlighted in blue.
     To change the editing, go back to step 2.
      To cancel the editing, select [2] and 
    press < 0>.
    4Save the movie.
      Select [W ], then press < 0>.
    X The save screen will appear.
      To save it as a new movie, select 
    [New file ]. To save it and overwrite 
    the original movie file, select 
    [Overwrite ]. Then press < 0>.
    X Editing the Movie’s First and Last Scenes
      Since the editing is done  in 1-sec. increments (position indicated by 
    [ X ]), the exact position where the movie  is edited may differ slightly from 
    the position you specified.
      If the card does not have enough room, [ New file] will not be selectable.
      More movie editing functions are  available with ZoomBrowser EX/
    ImageBrowser (provided software).

    You can playback the images in the card as an automatic slide show.
    1Select [Slide show].
     Under the [ 4] tab, select [ Slide 
    show ], then press < 0>.
    2Select the images to be played.
      Press the < V> key to select the 
    desired option, then press < 0>.
    [All images/Movies/Stills]
      Press the < V> key to select one of 
    the following: [ jAll images/
    k Movies/z Stills]. Then press 
    < 0 >.
    [Date/Folder/Rating]
      Press the < V> key to select one of 
    the following: [ iDate/nFolder/
    Rating ].
      When < zH> is highlighted, 
    press the < B> button.
      Press the < V> key to select the 
    desired option, then press < 0>.
    3  Slide Show (Auto Playback)

    3 Slide Show (Auto Playback)
    3Set [Set up] as desired.
     Press the < V> key to select [ Set 
    up], then press < 0>.
     
    Set the [Display time] (still photos), 
    [
    Repeat], and [Transition effect] 
    options, then press the  button.
    4Start the slide show.
      Press the < V> key to select [ Start], 
    then press < 0>.
    X After [ Loading image... ] is displayed, 
    the slide show will start.
    5Quit the slide show.
     To quit the slide show  and return to the 
    setting screen, press the  button.
    [Display time][Repeat][Transition effect]
      To pause the slide show, press < 0>. During pause, [ G] will be 
    displayed on the upper left  of the image. Press  again to resume 
    the slide show.
      During auto playback , you can press the  button to change the 
    still photo display format.
      During movie playback, you can adjust  the sound volume by turning the 
    .
      During pause, you can turn the < 5> dial to view another image.
      During the slide show, auto po wer off will not take effect.
      The display time may vary depending on the image.
      To view the slide show on  a TV set, see pages 209-212.

    You can also view the still photos and movies on a TV set. Before 
    connecting or disconnecting the cable between the camera and 
    television, turn off the camera and television.
    * Adjust the movie’s sound volume with the TV set.* Depending on the TV se t, part of the image displayed might be cut off.
    The HDMI Cable HTC-100 (sold separately) is required.
    1Connect the HDMI cable to the 
    camera.
     With the plug’s < dHDMI MINI > logo 
    facing the back of t he camera, insert 
    it into the < D > terminal.
    2Connect the HDMI cable to the TV 
    set.
     Connect the HDMI cable to the TV’s 
    HDMI IN port.
    3Turn on the TV and switch the 
    TV’s video input to select the 
    connected port.
    4Set the camera’s power switch to 
    .
    Viewing the Images on TV

    Viewing the Images on TV
    5Press the  button.
    XThe image will appear on the TV 
    screen. (Nothing will be displayed on 
    the camera’s LCD monitor.)
      The images will be displayed at the 
    TV’s optimum resolution 
    automatically.
      By pressing the < B> button, you 
    can change the display format.
      To playback movies, see page 204.
     Do not connect any ot her device’s output to the camera’s  
    terminal. Doing so ma y cause a malfunction.
      Some TVs might not be able to disp lay the captured images. In such a 
    case, use the provided AV ca ble to connect to the TV.
      The camera’s  terminal and  terminal cannot 
    be used at the same time.
